Hello all ,
Long time listener first time caller .
I’m putting together a 225 in my 66 Valiant signat rag .
I am using a Offenhauser 4bbl intake and a Holley 4160 390cfm on top .
My question is ,
With the stock pedal assembly that twist the throttle rod are you all able to use
The stock gas pedal with a cable ? I’ve read horror stories about the offy linkage .
Or would I be better off getting a cable pedal from a 70’s A body ? I really don’t want to
Drill holes in the fire wall .
Thanks all !!

That's the easy way.

I forget on the '66 if it's similar to the '67 pedal that's floor mounted with the cable attachment, if so, then you just swap out the cable with
one that is the correct length from a later car (up to 1974, or if you need 24"+ because the carb has the primaries facing the engine you can use one out of
a junkyard 90's chrysler minivan..)

If you are good with a welder and some scrap you can make a tab to hook link to and do that, but is adding some extra linkage that could be problematic.

If you can locate a V-8 pedal assembly from the 64-66 they had the cable instead of the twist/rod assembly.

Thanks for the input and good idea on the late model van cable ! Would have never
Thought of that .
