I mean, at least *I* think it's interesting.

The ignition/door key for 1964-1966 Chryslers is an Ilco 1764P (1764S for the trunk). You can still find these key blanks on eBay (for example here) if your locality is short on good locksmith shops or old-fashioned hardware stores. It looks like these keys were only used through 1966, but the ones I'm seeing listed for later years (for example P1770U/S1770U) look very similar and *may* be interchangeable.

Anyway, if you're in a pinch and need a spare key made right this second, you can also use a #15R from Home Depot (and possibly other retail boxes). I didn't expect they'd have anything that worked, but the nice man in the orange apron tried every test slot in the machine and found one that fit. I think this key is for later Jeeps, but I don't remember. It's a little bit thicker (~0.080" vs. 0.075"), but the keyway cuts are the same, and I just verified the one pictured below will start my '64 Dart.

Yes that black key blank is at least for very late 80' to 90's Jeeps and Dodge Trucks (have owned both types, still have spares...lol)

I had a couple like that cut for my '73 Duster. The black plastic keeps it from going in the ignition switch all the way, but it will unlock the doors.

Yep, I usually cut the plastic off those types of keys, revealing a simple metal key underneath. I bet you could make a rough pentastar shape with some time on a grinder...

That's the same key as my 88 plymouth sundance had...looks like the wide slot on the right allows it to fit into the older locks, but it likely doesn't work the other way around.

I buy key blanks on with the pentastar ebay and cut my own with dremel and file after tracing the teeth.

Still need the blanks for the 64 dart trunk. Those don't interchange with 69-89 trunk keys.

I bet the only reason your key is 75 thou vs 80 thou was due to carry and pocket wear on the brass.

No one will know if you take all the pins, springs and tumblers out the ignition switch.

Any mopar key with any pin code will start yer car.
