The workshop manual advises:

- remove heater push button facia plate, remove push buttons, and then remove 3 screws holding the heater slide unit to the back of the instrument binnacle
- then lower the heater slide unit, etc.

Does anyone know how to remove the 3 screws holding the heater slide unit from the rear of the instrument binnacle without having to stand on your head on the front floor?

First, fetch a large bottle of bourbon or similar. That's step 1 in just about any behind-the-dashboard procedure on the '60-'62 cars.

I may never know this joy. In my 62 Valiant, Seymour cut out the original dash and made his own with pretty easy access. The heater has one toggle switch to turn it on, and a little door you can reach down and open or close. A Cadillac, it is not, but it's nice and simple!

For a bottle of pappy's (NEW-FULL, just be clear) I will drive to your house and do it for you. So it's in Robs hands now.
