RODNEY WINS AGAIN!!!!

Rodney took out Ron P. in the final. Rodney has a strangle hold on the points lead.

Norm was the lone semifinalist. 12 car showed up including Mike Jefferies.

Ron Parker took out Dale Rose in the 1st round to avenge the .000 light Dale strapped on him at Bristol in the first round.

Norm and Ron Hamby put on a great show in the first round with Norm comming out victorious!

Seymour said he felt like the show and flea market attendance was down .

Big congrats to Rodney! Thanks for the update, Tom. I'll see y'all at Clay City, eh?

Fun to watch this year because no one is completely cleaning up. Rodney is ahead, but there's a lot more uncertainty it seems. Go footbrakers!

Lou

Great weekend We squked by Dale by 2/10000 in aound one but coming back to the pits my car was dead one one clynder. This is where the Slanted Family is so great. I asked Dale if we could find out the problem. How many raceer would stop what they were doing and jump in, When rest of the racers seen i was having a problem they jumped in That included Jim Cox John Cox Seymour Mike Meril and others. It turned out that the spot weld broke on the rocker shaft the rocker arm come off the number 5 intake vavle. Dale did a fast fix and we put it back together and cranked it up and it sounded like hammers were in the engine. So Jim said lets check the flexplate bolts and three of them had come loose. Fixed that let it down. Thats when they called for round two. We crancked it up and it sounded fine. Raced Ronnie Jones in the second round squeked by him another close race. Got the third round bye and it me and Rodney in the final. The car had been going 12.72 all day. Raced Rodney and went 12.63 i guess the car liked the repairs. Congrats to Rodney. We have raced many times and he is the best footbraker in Slant six racing. This is the second time we have had valve train problems. So last nite i called Jim Cox on his way back home from the track and ordered new rollar rocker arms and shaft. Im going to have the 6AL on and the rocker arms bv Clay City and see what happens. Thank to all the Slanted Family Ron Parker

There was no slant six fast four at columbus. We had some weather delays, but otherwise I don't know why they didn't run it.

Sounds like a load of fun. Sorry I had to miss it, but I had a wedding to attend satuday with my wife.

Turns out I threw out my back on saturday night and now I am not able to bend in the middle. I'm talking lying on the floor crying  type pain.

I'm starting to feel a little better, but I doubt I'll be strong enough to install the new engine in time for clay city. Looks like I'll be running the same mill as at columbus, but maybe with some cooling system improvements.

Congrats to Rodney on another win. Did anyone get the story on how he made it home from columbus? His tow rig was acting funny and wouldn't come out of first gear last I heard. Did he make the trip home at 20 mph?

Ron isn't backing down! It's always a little more fun (for me) when someone opens the hood and turns a wrench between rounds. Really gets the blood flowing when you are under the gun like that. Sorry I missed out on all the action, but I'll see you all at Clay City.
