I'm thinking the closest slant six race to Ontario Canada, would be The event at Mason-Dixon Dragway, in Hagerstown Md. The schedual would be set in the spring of 2014.
Not local by any means, but doable at less then 400 miles. I have made that race 3 times, at about 900 miles.

I hope you can make it down. I would suggest you check with customs, ahead of time, to see what you need to do. Years ago we had a few issues when coming from the states to Ontario, and back, with race cars and parts.
It was not a big deal, but there were certain requirements. Now with the new regulations, you might even need a pasport, where we did not back then.

Everyone going into America now requires a passport. You can come to Canada without one.....but you wont be able to go back.

With race cars and parts you can register your stuff with your home country before you cross. They will want VINs etc.

When you cross you will declare that none of the stuff will stay in the country.

If this is intimidating contact a good broker for the first trip.

I have used A+A customs brokers for over 20 years with excellent results.

Mason Dixon is an excellent race for a first timer. Make sure to try the pulled pork swamich.

Canadians attending this race are famous for passing out beers when the rain starts ...so be prepared.
