Whatever else we do, we need someone to Video Will's 1st run. It likely will be the world's fastest Slant 6 pass again. Something that we don't want to miss again! Ant volunteers?

Rick

If the weather holds I hope to attend the Mason Dixon S6 race.
Talk on the forum sounds like the race is Saturday and Sunday, but The Mason Dixon flyer reads slant six racing on Sunday only. Can somebody give me some details. Also sounds like I want to be there at 8:00 AM when the gates open. Can I park on the grounds outside the gate the night before and sleep in my truck ? ... Thanks, Gary V.

Well dang....
Here is where things sit...

It looks like I will NOT be getting that cast iron thingie that covers those six holes on top on the engine. That, and no driveshaft, means I will be a spectator on Sunday.
Just goes to show, it's always something....

Wow, sorry to hear the bad news!
Were you able to use the transmission?
Do you want me to bring the driveshaft we talked about?

I'm planning to attend Sunday as a spectator to meet everyone!

Besides, last time I saw Will's car it had a 440 motor plate in it...

Thanks!

Valiant V300 and all,

Slant 6 racing will be on BOTH Saturday and Sunday. Weather is looking good to me on Weather Underground (which tends not to "oversell" bad weather).

Rick might be able to answer more definitely, but you should be able to park on the entry road or show/pit area and camp/sleep, or even make it across/behind the track to the main pits in the evening or during the night. I don't recall their gates being closed at night.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Lou

Gary,

It will be good to see you there!

I had talked with you a few times at Carlisle... I always have to search the a-100 Section to find you :-)

Mason -Dixon track staff is friendly the entire weekend with their gate assignment. You can camp etc anytime the whole weekend, and Pay the Racing fee, Spectator fee etc. whenever.

Racing is both Saturday and Sunday! - It's just officially advertised Saturday from M-D Management.

Hope to see you this weekend!

Greg

I couldn't use the trans as it turns out it was a lockup trans as well (I forgot the year). That didn't stop things though. I found a trans locally for cheap (73 Duster) and I got the slant it was attached to. (Guy is building a drag car-big block).
Can you measure the length of the driveshaft you have? How much do you want for it?

So you bought a transmission from me that you couldn't use...and now you want to buy the driveshaft?
Boy, you are a sucker for punishment, lol

You can have the driveshaft, no charge. I'll bring it Sunday.
It was from a 75 Valiant, 904 to 7 1/4 rear.

Thanks!

Hey, it wasn't your fault the trans was changed at some point.
Thant's the trouble when working on cars this old.
Never quite know the history.

From the web site:

Saturday
Gates Open 10 AM Open Session 1PM- 2:30 pm
Qualifying 3 pm

Sunday
Mid-Atlantic MOPAR Meet Gates 8AM Show 9AM-3PM Drags 12 Noon - till

You should be able to drive right in anytime Friday night or Saturday. The Hamby's have always come up and drove into the pits on Friday night. Plus the track scheduled a T&T Friday anyway, so the track personnel should be there.

Still trying to get hold of Elmer about the timing of things Saturday. It looks like an open session for time runs for everyone from 1-2:30 PM. However I would say that all of the Slant 6 racers should be at the track and ready to race by 12:00. That means arrive and get unloaded, go through tech, and be ready to race. Tech opens at 11:00 usually.
If the weather looks bad later in the day Elmer may move everything up time wise. So be ready early. I will be there when the gates open at 10:00 if not before.

Rick
