We are eagerly awaiting the final race of the 2016 season at Tulsa, OK.

This is the inaugural event, but the internet is buzzing with what is shaping up to be a spectacular grand opening for this brand new Slant 6 race!

It has been deliberately kept silent here on the Forum, but I just can't stand it anymore! I'm going to be out of town for a couple weeks and I can't leave without saying something.

Team Green has been known to unleash a few surprises on unsuspecting victim racers from time to time. They seem to enjoy clandestine operations...

They have been the driving force behind trying to get some more racing action for the Midwestern racers. Many of whom do not frequent forums like this or even the internet for some.

Rest assured that they have been beating the bushes... or maybe corn fields  to get those folks out for this race.

You would be impressed with the creative ingenuity that goes largely unnoticed in barns and workshops in this part of the country. These guys don't go bragging all over the internet... They just work on their cars with friends and family and show up at the local track (or back road) and let the cars do the talking.

I promised not to mention names or car count numbers, but I'm giddy with excitement with what Team Green (and maybe a couple Killer Bees  ) are planning.

Thanks Mark and Rusty for allowing me to give a restrained hint as to what's going on. (It IS only fair that we give others a chance to react  )

Stay tuned!!!

It may be helpful for turn out to mention the names and count? You never know who may show up for a 9 car race!

Just sayin...

Is it possible to get any more details on the race? There is a small possibility that I could come but that would require some significant planning with work schedule. Will there be a single race or 2 races that weekend? I was pretty certain there was only one race scheduled but I know things can change. Car count would be another deciding factor. I don't have to know who is coming or even how many but there would really need to be 9+ cars for me to consider the trip out this year. Any other hints would be greatly appreciated. :D

Only one race advertised, so only one can be run for points at this point.

Fun to think about who might show up. Seymour told me he is trying to make it.

Great song, BTW, Rob! Going through my head now...

I can say with relative certainty that I won't be there since the motor in the Daytuna is sold.

So would I, so would I.
Wrong year for me, this is the Stan Year of the Norton Motorcycle.

How about this, you promise to be there next year with the Lancer and I promise to be there with the Wagon.

Deal?

I'm not kidding.

I wonder if we could talk the Will-meister to leave the east coast

Stan let's make it early 2017 on that race. Mo-Kan or the Texas Motorplex MoPar race would work for us.

Rodney, Rodney, Rodney I thought you were a MoPar guy.
Just about any MoPar fanatic knows that Lee Petty's Valiant was raced by Holman-Moody in late 1960 and finished 2nd at Bowman Grey with Joe Weatherly driving. The next week NASCAR mandated all race cars had to have eight cylinders.
This info is from Lee Holman.
I want cars to show up for Tulsa, but I'm not desperate enough to ask a Ford guy!
