Since the board crashed I thought I would update this thread so that it is on here for future reference. Feel free to add anything to this that you would like.

We had 2 races scheduled for the final race of the season. One on Saturday and one on Sunday. But the weather looked pretty ominous and I talked to Elmer's Son-in-law, Jake Landis, about running both races on Saturday. They agreed to give it a try and we were able to complete both races by their deadline of 5:00PM. Good thing we did run them both since it did get rained out on Sunday. Never feel bad about sending the track an e-mail thanking them for working with us either. I'm sure they would appreciate it.

1st race of the day had 10 racers with Greg Ondayko's Ruster being the fastest car in the race at a 12.04 ET. My Valiant running 13.50's made it to a third round bye. Greg was to run Derrick Sword in the other side of the 3rd round but he pulled out because Ruster was starting to slow down, and he did not want to damage anything any worse than already it was. So Derrick and I both had single runs to sort our cars out. We ran our singles and then came right back to the lanes and ran the final. I ended up winning the final with a little better light . I ran a 13.59 on a 13.50 to Derricks 18.52 on a 1850.

The second race had only 8 cars since Greg was out, and Ken Anderson was out also as his Dart bent a push rod and he had a pretty long drive back home. He didn't want to take a chance on being stranded 75 miles from home! The final in this race came down to my son Ryan, in Whitney's purple Duster against Phil Stoneback in his Dark Green convertible Dart. I thought it would be cool for Ryan and I to have the first Father / Son wins at a race, but it was not meant to be. Phil pulled out the win in a double break-out. He ran a 19.28 on a 19.30 dial and Ryan ran a 18.05 on a 18.12.

Lots of fun had by everyone and the track treated us well again. I will try and find out how to post a couple pictures later on.

Rick

Thanks for the update.

Pictures are easy to post, but it would be a good idea for you to "compress" them for web use or they can take up too much bandwidth. Just see the "Upload attachment" section. I will be looking for an add-on that will do the compression.

Ok I figured out how to compress the photos and attach them! Is 800X600 OK or too big?

You can only post 3 photo attachments to a post. So races where you have a lot to post will need to go on several posts.

It's not the resolution so much as the final size. Your pictures are a little over 200k. Not bad, but you can probably get them down to about 60k. I'll see if I can download one and re-compress to see what we get, and I'll post it back so we can compare size and quality.

The big ones are nice, but the smaller one is what we are more used to. I say make them compressed so we don't get spoiled and waste bandwidth. :D

It's not just our bandwidth. If a member doesn't have a high-speed connection, those images will load very slowly. Some of us live in the country where high-speed is not available, at least not what you have in the big cities.

If anyone needs help compressing pictures, I can try to work with them using whatever software they have available.
If you have a program that does resizing, you might try setting the width at 400 and letting the hight auto-adjust (retain aspect ratio). There is sometimes a checkbox for that.

Ok I will try and delete the larger ones and resize them.

So we don't have to have a photo host anymore at all? That will be nice!

As long as I get enough storage (part of the plan), you won't need a photo host.
