I've been working some pretty long hours this week, but hopefully I'll have some time to throw a couple things in the truck and drag the Duster onto the trailer so I can leave tomorrow morning in enough time to be there by 5:00 PM. Looking forward to it!

Sorry, but I won't make it. Got about 200 miles into the trip, and wound up with a overheating problem, in the truck. By the time I was able to get out of traffic, and onto the shoulder, the radiator top tank blew. Not able to get a radiator until tommorrow. Left the race car and trailer in Ga, and had a friend come and haul my truck back home. Need to fix the truck, then get back to pick up the race car. Have fun, folks.

Very sorry to hear that, Charlie. Murphy's law... Hope the retrieval and repairs go well.

See a bunch of you this evening, and some more tomorrow!

Lou

We had 9 cars last night. We only got the first round in though. There was an accident that took awhile to deal with. They decided to close down sometime around 11:00.
Hopefully we will be able to finish today.
I went out first round against Greg Ondayko.

I have no cell phone service at the track, so someone else will have to add some color commentary.
Heading to breakfast. :D

10 cars today with the addition of Mark Charapich. We also got to finish last night’s race.

A couple Duster Dudes got lucky. Ain’t that right Jack.

Yes big congratulations go out to Jack Everhart jr. and Rob Simmons for winning the first two races! Greg Ondayko and Ryan Covalt were R/U.

On a happy note, Ryan was able to reset Seymours 1/8 mile record on the car's first time out! Pretty sure there is lots more in the car. :D

A/Gas. He crushed the ET record. He almost got the MPH record as well. Maybe today he will get the backup run he needs. He was sorting through a bunch of jets last night.

Back home finally. We have been sidelined with not one, but two trailer flat tires, one blowout and one tire just going flat after about 50 miles. Tires are only ten years old, but apparently dry rot has taken its toll.
Glad you guys are having fun. Congrats to Ryan on setting the record, best of luck on setting both ends of it.

Sorry to hear..

Spend some Ca$h and get goodyear marathons for the trailer and keep them covered from sun with fabric foam board, plywood etc.

Best of luck!
Greg

Rick Covalt won the race today, with Jack III runner up. 9 cars. Great fun was had by all this weekend and the track loved having us. They invited us back next year. We handed out $1000 in prize money (plus some for the M-D rainout race), 4 plaques, and some gift certificates for powder coating and gaskets that Jack Jr. got for us.

Ryan played some with the Blue Valiant today but missed the MPH record. 5000 ft density altitude. A/G record ET should be 7.188 now, IIRC. I think Seymour is happy, especially given Ryan ran this at 4000+ ft density altitude.

The Sixy Beast made a few passes and won one round after 4 of us got it together and reliably running this morning. Congrats, Brian!

I ran my 68 Dart street car at 3160 lbs racewt (seats out) and set the C/U records for ET and MPH - 8.82 @ 82.57 MPH.

Thanks to all for such a nice weekend of racing and fun times together!

Lou

The old record was set on a morning where there was frost on the windshield and the night before had hosted a big 10.5 race that left a super starting line. Ryan's new motor is off to a good start!

Hi Seymour,

I figured your record from before was with really good air. Ryan will run quite a bit faster, I'm sure. We are all contemplating the "bounce" now too, and we did a little looking under the car and filming of launches.

All the best,
Lou

Big thanks to Lou and Christine for hosting many of the racers at the Madsen compound this weekend!

I had a wonderful time getting back together with my Slanted Family at the track! Lou was very gracious letting me drive his 68 Dart for most of the weekend.

An even bigger thanks to all who helped getting the Sixy Beast up to snuff for track duty! Still have some tuning to do, but the future looks good for her.

Brian
