Some of you must be a little "wimpy". I slept in a foot of snow when it was 5 degrees out, in a tent.

And I walked up hill both ways to school too! On second thought, I'm a wimp! What motel am I staying at!!!

Been there and done that enough over the last 34 years in the Army. I can still do it, but really, really prefer not to! Angie made us some reservations. :D

Just got a call from Steve Adams. He is at the track, and the car is running good. Front end is fixed, and car goes straight. Did brakes while repairing front end. Also did some electrical work. He says "Knoxville, here I come".
Are the other four Clay city finalists going to be there?

We are staying at a Comfort Suites in Powell (North Knoxville) near I 75. It’s about 20 minutes from the track.

The other four should be there.

Ok, I am admitting that I am too old and too cold to camp in the mountains this time of year, so I have a room at a Quality in Clinton.

I just talked to Gary.

They are NOT going to race Friday night!!

Gates will open at 10:00 AM Saturday morning with racing starting at 12:00.

Tommy said it will be too cold (42*) Friday night, but said he will get us through all 2-3 races Saturday.

Please spread the word to those planning to come!

The temps look about the same Saturday from what I see.

Hope they aren't jumping the gun. The weather can change a lot in 4 days. The good weather may be Friday and the rain on Saturday by the time we get to the end of the week.

Does anyone know if we can get onto the property to camp Friday night? That is what Ryan and I were planning.

Last time I was there gate was locked until they opened.

Call track or call Gary B. My assumption is doubtful. I am sure you could camp in a bruner yard if you ask nice :-)

Hopefully we can get in friday night to camp.

One other question I have. Are we still able to get attendance points by showing up to the track friday night? or since it was cancelled so soon do we only have the opportunity for points on Saturday?

It makes a difference to some of us :D

The track will probably be locked Friday night. The Bruners do live within 5-10 minutes of the track and will surely not mind if you camp there Friday.

Yes, go to the track Friday for your attendance points. That's what I did back in August. I took pictures and everything!

Good question Ryan. I think I am going to go by the track on Friday just in case the attendance points will be awarded. I am not sure which way this will go since the Friday race day has already been canceled by the track. I also doubt the track gates will be open on Friday night. I am quite sure the Bruners will be able to accommodate parking if you let them know. See you soon.

Ron

Sounds like a plan. See you all in a few days!

I would think, with over 48 hours notice of cancellation, I would think it fair to not award points...
Just my two cents...
