Hello Slant 6 Racers!

In one month we will be hosting a Slant 6 points race at the 1/8th mile Motormile Dragway (motormiledragway.com) in Fairlawn (Radford), Virginia. We will have test'n'tune on Friday evening June 7th, followed by competition on Sat and Sun the 8th and 9th. Gates open at 6 PM Friday (time runs 6:30) and 11 AM Sat and Sun (runs start around noon, will check).

Let me know if you would like help booking lodging, or we have some beds available at our house (25 min from track). Camping at the track is also allowed.

Christine and I plan to have a cookout Saturday evening at our house, assuming we get done at a reasonable hour (usually by 6 PM).

Hope you all can make it!

Lou and Chris

I would love to come to the Va Race this year, but the lucky stars are not so lucky.

No Car ready and I have another Racing commitment that weekend that involves a road course gifted to me from Michele.

Best of luck as that is a fun weekend!

Thanks, Norm! It will be great to see you and meet Henry.

I'm sorry I just realized I did not respond to your text earlier. My phone was not working for texts for a while... The short answer is, I don't know. We can talk at Motormile, or shoot me a call some evening this week!

A bunch of us are getting our cars ready, including some new projects/engines and some upgrades to a few cars. Should be a great time! I have updated the "roll call" list above. Don't wanna miss this one!!

ALSO, I just found out June 7-9 is Alumni Weekend at Virginia Tech. If you are going to book hotel rooms, now is the time. I am happy to help anyone with that. Also, there are some spaces open at the Madsen/Kaestle hotel (just ask), and camping at the track is allowed.

Welcome, Slant Sixers, one and all!

Lou, it is with great disappointment that I will not be attending this race. I am unable to get off of work for the weekend. New job plus low seniority equals no time off. Best of luck to everyone!

Lou do you know if the track has showers or not. Trying to decide if I want to truck camp or bring motor home.

Norm,

They told me the track has showers, but last time folks were not able to use them. Do you want to stay at my house? 25 min from track. You could also come over for a shower and still stay at the track if you prefer. We have two rooms w/queen bed, a nice futon, and a few couches available. So far, only Rick and Ryan Covalt are staying with us.

Brian,

So sorry to hear you will not make it, but of course we understand! Best of luck with the new job...

Best,

Lou
