Just made it home. I had a great time this weekend! I accomplished more bench racing than I did actually racing.

Congrats to Rodney! And a big thanks to Rob for doing a great job with the race duties!

Sounds like everyone had a good time! I called the Kentucky Colonel/Poser and told him I would be there......but things changed. I rented a cabin in the Red River Gorge just south of Clay City. My daughter and I - plus pooch were going hiking and she was to drop me off at the drags mid day on Sat. I was to hitch a ride with Rick (A&A) to get home.

Drove down on Thursday hauled our stuff up 1/4 mile + (300 feet up) to the cabin.

Hiked Friday and did not get eaten by black bears and did not fall off any cliffs. I guess silly arse people fall to their death, one to two times a year in the Daniel Boone National Forest. At this point my daughter told me she really didn't want to drive home solo w/pooch. So we stayed an extra day and hiked and hiked and hiked. The views were killer!

I had no cell phone reception except on top of one ridge and I texted Mater and Rick to say I would not be there and everything was okay. Major run-on sentence that!

So - sorry I missed you guys - I didn't smell any burnouts but the camp fire sure smelled good. Get on yer Google Machine and look up Red River Gorge and hit images - Gray's Arch was one of our hikes. Later guys - going to retire early - I don't care if Zilla says sleep is for kitties - so to speak.

Thanks for putting this race together Rob! We had a great time and always love coming to clay city to race and see the slanted family. It was a great weekend for racing and hanging out with you all.

Congratulations to Rodney on winning both races! I think its the 3rd time he doubled up wins at clay city. Very impressive!

I can also recommend the clay city area and Red River Gorge if you like to hike a little and see some absolutely beautiful rock formations, arches, cliffs and waterfalls. We are staying down here still to do some of that this week. If you can ever stay an extra day, its worth spending some time hiking and its really close to the track!

Anyway. I had a blast this weekend and am thrilled to have the car in the high 6’s (6.962 @ 95 mph) now. I made some minor changes to the carburetor and shift point but the biggest change (worth almost 2 tenths in the 1/4 mile) was running without a hood. I ran back to back to back passes and every time it slowed almost .2 in the 1/4 when I put the hood back on. I was able to run an 11.125 in the 1/4 which was the fastest pass too!

I was glad to see Charlie back spraying again, and it sounds like he went fast enough to break the D nitrous 1/8 mile record too.

I hope to see a bunch of you at Mason Dixon too! Should be a super close points race for the championship this year!

I love a close race!! Both individual races and the overall championship!

Rodney put himself within striking distance now as well.

All three top racers have now given up 10 points to the Over 5 Rule.

If/when Charlie's record gets approved I will add his 20 points.

It was great to see everyone again this year. Had a great trip. I got home and ordered a wideband O2 sensor kit so I can do some fine tuning. Hopefully I can have a few updates done before next year. I have a question that I hope someone can answer easily. Where do I find the racing records at on this site? I've looked through the forums and searched but can't find them.
Thanks,

Joel's

Under Racing Q&A the top sticky is the Records thread. On Page 21 Ryan posted a link to the records spreadsheet.

I don't think the B and D nitrous or A gas records from Wilkesboro have been added yet, but the rest of the history is there.
