Quote: All of yer trash talkin must have worked. Either way we were keeping it in the family! I tried to intimidate him with my old age and treachery stories. It must have worked. Had a great day with the Slanted family and the car ran well. It kept getting faster as we went. It ran a 8.16 on a 8.15 dial with a .016 light in the final against Ryan. Just have to try it all over again tomorrow. Really nice father son time!! |

Greg’s post was a typo, right? He meant 6.91, not 6.19!? |

Whoops bad memory and dyslexia converge on that last post. It should be 6.91.. Greg |

I like the idea of having one day 1/4 mile and the other day 1/8 mile at tracks that can/will do it. PS: congrats to Rick for the win, and Ryan for another new record. Seymour must be ginning ear to ear. |

Ryan and Rick in the final again for the 1/4 mile race. Ryan's semi final pass was 11.008 @ 117.65 at A weight. Semour built slant cars are fast. He's dialing 10.99 Greg |

In 2011 after I had lightened the car to 2125# I ran a couple of 117.46 runs aided by a stiff tail wind and 1,000' air density. I didn't think it would ever go faster than that, but Ryan has found some more horsepower. Based on the horsepower it takes to go 6.91 in the 1/8 it should be capable of a 10.89 1/4 but it's really hard to push a 62 Valiant through that second 1/8, maybe someday. Ryan has sure proven to get a lot more performance out of it that I ever did. Congratulations to Ryan and his Dad! I am watching it rain down in Charlotte where they were supposed to run the NHRA national event today so it looks like we lucked out on the weather for a change. |

Yes another great day of racing! My car ran a 12.99 in the second rd and I dialed a 12.96 in the final. Ran a 12.9598. If my math is correct I broke out by .0002!! But I met my goals of a 12 second time slip and 100 MPH. I believe Ryan is really close to locking up the Championship unless the Tulsa race is a really big one and Jack tows out there and wins it! I am sure Rob will update us soon. I'll will send him the points later this evening! |
