I have some notes
It seems that the consensus is this:
(Lou, correct me if I am wrong with my summary)

2 Official Slant 6 Races
- Mokan / Midwest Race: @ Mokan Dragway, Asbury, Mo -- April 29 (April 28 or 30 also a Slant 6 race day?)
- Mason Dixon: @ Mason Dixon Dragway, Boonsboro MD: 2 Day event May 6th/7th
- Possible Knoxville event / Race? / Gathering to celebrate Merril B.'s 90th Birthday (no confirmed event or or date for that one).

Points to be kept track of: yes, for an individual's racing points.

Championship: with so few attendees / events.. no not really.

Records to be set: Yes as before and as the rules / record setting procedures dictate; at an official race.

Matt D (Badvert65) Has Proposed a "Slow ET" Prize for the Slowest winning ET.(Matt can provide further details on this - essentially an initiative to get more folks to come to a race, even if their car runs 17-22 seconds in a 1/4 mile.
Bryce Gill From Gill Welding has Offered some prizes for the events from their catalog as well as offering to promote the official Slant 6 Racing series events on their facebook etc.

6-8 People Arrived at the meeting to discuss some of these things

Sorry guys, I was checked out and didn't know about the Zoom meeting. Reading through these posts, I have some responses.

The #43 is still waiting on pistons from Ross and probably won't be ready for the Mopars Invade event at Mokan in late April. The engine I had been running in 2021 and 2022 was freshened up and put into the "Silver Sub" owned by Larry Jones. He is 86 years old, so will need a pinch driver. Maybe that will be me. I can probably convince him to take the car to Mopars Invade. And, the #42 (Dads car) should be ready to run as well.

I'd certainly like to have an additional race somewhere? Knoxville is fine with me. Is someone going to do some checking on that and some dates. I would like to get it penciled in if we can. That way I can make vacation plans.

Plan is to get it running with one of the Motorhome 440 i have, then build a stout 440 with Turbo and race it. Also I plan on towing my little slant six dragster with it. And trying to do a drag & drive event or two, and a few burnout contests...

Current roadblock is getting the fuel tank out to do repairs on the hole someone poked in the bottom of it.

BTW: I have agreed to be the race coordinator for the Mopars Invade at Mokan on April 29th, #43 running or not. I'm working with Carl and Craig to see what they can do for us as far as prize money. Rumor has it that there will be a little something for the furthest tow.

Here is some information and questions"
Just FYI: No you can't run your slant six powered Airport Tugger. The Accu-Time system errors out at 35 seconds including reaction time.

Carl and Craig at Mokan are asking what would be a reasonable payout. Say we had 6 cars, then the payout should be what? Say we had 10 cars, the payout should be what?

Here is what i was thinking:
6 cars
Admission = $15
Tech Card = $15
Race Entry = $10
x6 = $240
Spouse / Helper = $15
x6 = $90
Total for track =$330
50% Payout = $165
Paydown = $80 1st, $50 2nd, $35 3rd

10 cars
Admission = $15
Tech Card = $15
Race Entry = $10
x10 = $400
Spouse / Helper = $15
x10 = $150
Total for track =$550
50% Payout = $275
Paydown = $120 1st, $80 2nd, $40 3rd, $35 4th

Or something like that.

Carl and Craig at Mokan have made a pretty good offer.

As you might have noticed, the flyer for Mopars Invade does not list the Slant Six class. They have offered to let us set the race entry fee. I had guessed $10.

Mokan will pay back 100% of the race fees, plus $10/car. Must have at least 6 cars.

So payout would be $20/car, split anyway we would like.

If we up the race fee, the payout goes up. Example $20 race fee, payout would be $30/car, still 6 car minimum.

The race fee is in addition to the $15 admission fee and $15 tech card fee. Mokan does this because they pay insurance for every person on the premises and insurance for every car that goes down the track. $15 to be on the premises, $15 to go down the track, and $?? race fee for racing.

This would be in addition to what ever the club pays out.

Please give your input.

I have MOKAN on my schedule.
I sure would like to see you and your dad again.
Slantzilla has some things going on, so he can't really commit right now.
I would like to think Team Green might bring the grey wagon.
Maybe Rusty?
I think Steve Nitti is bringing the Duster.
Lou said he would like to come if anyway possible.
That is what I remember.

That would be great! I'm working to get everything ready for when I get pistons. There is still a chance I can make it.
Head needs some work too.

Jeff,

Thanks for the great rundown and for your work on MoKan. I am trying to make the trip, after all these years... The payouts and setup look great to me.

Slant on,
Lou

Greg,
I made a couple of small changes to your post above. Looks great.

Jeff,
Any chance that MoKan would let us run two Slant 6 events, one on Fri or Sun in addition to the Mopars event on Sat? No worries either way, but thought I would ask.

I will try to talk to Meril and Gary about Knoxville, but it may take me a week or three. If anyone else can do this initial contact, please let us know here. What date range might folks want? July/Aug/Sept? I probably can't do anything before my wedding on June 24, beyond the races scheduled.

Lou

I'm asking about Friday night. Mokan will be running regular Test & Tune (aka Fun Drags). They might be able to accommodate us, but the issue will be a person needed to run the timing system (enter dials and run the computer) that they usually don't have during Test & Tune.

Another option is to run the T&T and get slips, and do our own figuring based on time slips. We could record our own dial-ins before the run and determine the winner based on time slips.

Update: Carl has agreed to let the Slant Six group have a race on Friday night, but no payout from the track.

I spoke to Gary, last night. He said knoxville is heavy into "No prep", and things like that, and he doubted they would accommodate us. He suggested I contact Rodney and see if he could set up something at Crossville, or London. Gary said they could most likely get Meril to those tracks.
