Phil say he is most likely a no show.
Mandi an I are on the fence.
We joined NETO last year and they have a 2 day race going..we were figuring on MD but with only one race we aren't sure...we need to talk about it.

What is NETO??

Everyone has to do what they have to do. But everyone also has to remember if they don't show up to the local races in their area, don't be surprised when they don't exist. If we really only turn out 4-6 racers at Mason Dixon, this will likely be the last one. I will just race with the other classes and call it a day.

Please note that this is a general note to everyone. Not to anyone in particular. I personally am having a hard time getting any motivation to plan a race with such a low car count.

Nostalgia drags..
Can find them on Facebook...

I do understand your frustration Rick.
I did talk with Maple Grove raceway and they are open to letting us have our own class...now if anyone is truly interested in it I will prosue it furyher...
I still have not talked with Mandi...I'll let you know when I know.

I second Rick's statements. It's looking an awful lot like we may not have Slant 6 races after this year, or maybe just one? I guess we'll see what happens with Knoxville and Clay City too... I'm gonna race anway, and I can easily meet up with Rick or Greg or others without having to organize a race.

You surely can do whatever you want Dan, but I see no reason to try and get another race scheduled when we are having trouble getting people out to what we already have planned. I will try Clay City if there is a decent car count. If there is 4 or 5, I'm out. Knoxville the same. We shall see.

Knoxville and clay city are so far for us...being on the east side of pa...that is why I had mentioned trying to get east coast slant owners to try at maple Grove being closer possibly...
I should see Mandi this week sometime..kids...

A few thoughts:

One point is, all of this takes planning far in advance and a lot of work by those of us who are organizing the races and banquets. All of us have cars to maintain and modify, and we plan ahead to get them ready for the races that are scheduled.

If people want to do their own thing on the spur of the moment, that is fine, but do not expect folks to show up if they do not have a say about when/where the races are, and likely some have planned to go to the races that did get scheduled. The car counts will most likely be lower at spur-of-the-moment races than at races where everyone knows far in advance when and where. Knoxville will be an experiment this year to see if any of the facebook crowd who seem to want to race will show up.

Lou

To anyone who is coming to the Saturday Mason Dixon Fiasco of a Street race. The gates open at 10:00. I will be there then if Lou and Greg are coming. I will run Pro street class. Only $150 to win! That kind of adds insult to injury as well. 20-30 cars in a class and only 150 to win. :( I don't get it! This is not a Slant 6 Race!

Sunday I think the gates open at 8:00 am but will double check. $25 at the gate. $20 to me inside for the purse. See ya all there!

8:00 AM is the correct gate open time. You need to be there in time to get through tech and be ready to race by 11:00ish. Elmer may start early just because he wants to. Between 8:30 & 10:30 you need to plan on waiting 1/2 hour to get in off the road if the weather is nice.
