Disassembled but reportedly complete early Valiant, picked up by a friend of mine. Acquired as an abandoned project, but he's got too many projects going already. He's willing to let the whole mess go for cheap, like $600... as long as it doesn't go to the crusher. I didn't get a good look at the floor pans, but the rest of the shell looks very solid. I'd buy it if I didn't also have too many projects and not enough space.

He told me it was a '62, but the taillights look like '60 or '61. I didn't check the door code. An internet search turned up nothing for the "Spitzer" logo on the trunk lid; I'm guessing this was the name of a dealership. Many boxes of parts inside the car. The engine, transmission, and all the parts of the front clip are on shelves in his shop. He also has a complete spare set of 4 doors!

Engine is a 170, reportedly rebuilt by the prior owner. Chrome valve cover. No rocker shaft mounted, but it might be in the car somewhere. Top end looks rebuilt, if a long time ago. Had what looked to me like a direct-drive starter. Weird motor mounts that looked new and possibly custom (I should have gotten a picture). Comes with an aluminum 1-barrel intake and early non-reinforced exhaust manifold, not mounted. Transmission is a 3-speed manual.

I am no expert, but I don't see the 61 Door Emblem. Front lower control arm looks like 60-61. Rear spare tire trunk lid is 60-61. So might be a 60.

That's the remains of a '60 V200.

Thanks for the identification, guys!

If anyone's interested, let me know. I might be able to help with pickup or delivery, depending...

Wowzer...I just looked at the rest of the pics, and not only is that definitely a '60 V200, it's got an extremely rare piece of trim on it: the inner chrome ring on the spare-tire trunk lid was deleted early in the model run. Not quite as early as the stainless steel windshield and backglass surround trim (replaced by the cheaper plastic/mylar lockstrip we all know and hate on A-bodies through '67), but still. If the original fenders for this car still exist, they might also have the shark-fin trim atop—deleted around the same time as the inner ring on the trunk lid.

You might get some $'s for the trim but I think the body is too far gone!

There's even a steering wheel with a horn ring I need.
