While not quite what you are designing, the cam that Lou helped me pick out for Big Bore I was a reverse pattern cam (Shorter exhaust) and it worked extremely well and would be a nice cam for a street strip car in my opinion. It went 13.80 in 2800# car with 10.7CR and only a home ported, Enginebuilder valve head.

I enjoy the the work you are doing too John. The charts are neat to see and ponder. Good luck! I'm sure your car will run well.

I have 2 Jeffrey crate motors right now. :lol:

I also have a basic philosophy on camshafts. If some is good, more is better, and too much is just enough. :mrgreen:

What were the specs on that cam? Street/strip is what I am after.

that is because the combination of 106 LSA and 102 ICL moved the torque curve down in the RPM band.

note that the peak torque for the 106 LSA 102 ICL occurred at 3500 RPM, in fact
it was the best torque performer at 3500 and 3000 RPM, and the worst TQ performer
from 4500 to 6000 RPM. Once the motor spins beyond peak the curves drop off quickly.



LOOK AT THE NUMBERS

HP and TQ are mathematically related. A given HP will always have the same TQ at a given rpm (+-1 due to rounding).

The 106LSA/102ICL has lower TQ values for a given HP value at the higher rpms than the other charts.

You are right, Ed. There is something not physically/mathematically right about those numbers.

Mine was Oregon #977 Exhaust grind on the Intake, #1672 on the Exhaust

Specs- Intake .513 / 251@.050 Exhaust .505 / 242 @ .050 105 LSA, ICL is not on the card, but I think it was 106. Installed at 102.

at the 3000 RPM mark on the 106 LSA 102 ICL I omitted the
correct 286 TQ reading and consequently the TQ values for the increasing RPM ranges at 3000 RPM and above were shifted.

the chart has been corrected.
