I misread.. it's only a shield not a SFI Flexplate..


Okay pheww.. I can still modify Small Block SFI Plates. . But I can buy a nice shield from these guys.

That is one of the NHRA rules, same thing with metal transmission shields rtc.

I really do like the part, but the SFI horsepocky is silly, the biggest pile being right on the sticker "This Manufacturer Certifies That This Part Meets......." yah, I think I can do that too and make my own sticker, horsepocky solved. DOT, SFI, ISO9Billion, if the Chinexico sweatshops can do it, so can I. :twisted:

For our slants I do think this is silly (our flex-plates don't weigh 10 lbs) but rules are there for safty drivers and spectaters.

Flexplate shield is required on cars running 9.99 or quicker. That's pretty rare area for Slant cars. :D

From the NHRA rulebook:

9.99 or quicker E.T. cars, and 135-
mph or faster E.T. cars using an automatic transmission, Lenco
Drive, or BRT must be equipped with a flexplate meeting SFI Spec
29.1 and covered by a flexplate shield meeting SFI Spec 30.1.

As far as making your own SFI tag, ask Bill Simpson how that worked out for him. :lol:

Oh, I see kinda like the kill switch for a trunk mouted battery, when you don't need one for an under the hood battery.
