I could live with that.

Mike sent home 3 big totes full of tools and parts, a toolbox of just carb parts, and the other decklid for the car with no spoiler.

Opening up the totes was just like Christmas! Unbelievable what he sent. He says he is officially done with garage cleaning now.

I bought 2 carbs from him, a 650 DP Holley done by Chuck Nyutten and a vacuum secondary 650 Holley he and Blaine built. Will try one or the other before the end of the season.

Mike retired from farming the same time he did racing. Didn't bother to ask if he misses racing, but did ask if he misses farming. He said that with the weather they've been having lately he does not miss it at all.

Kinda sad to see 2 legends (Mike and Seymour) of the Slant racing scene retired now, but it looks like all their stuff found good homes and they both seem to be enjoying retirement. :D

Just pulled the trigger on a lightweight spool and bearing kit for my 4.86 rear. I'm gonna try it out before the end of the year.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!

Just in case you're thinking about having a big header built like the one in my car, DON'T! I just spent an hour and a half fixing my neutral safety switch. The header completely fills up the space between the frame rail and thd pan. What a pain in the kwak.

But it sounds so cool.

Yes, they had it built when they were spraying. It's 6 into 3 into 1. It's really too big for an N/A motor, but it's all I have. Motor has 0 torque under 4000, but really wails after that.

I started putting in my long tube Cliffords this morning. I am hoping to test next Wednesday. Pretty sure I'll be taking more jet out.

Well, the Cliffords worked out a little better than I thought. It leaves really well now, is about a wash at the 1/8th mile, and down 2 mph at the 1/4. However, all 3 passes the 60 was within .008. I did not have time to do any jetting, will play with that up in Cedar Falls next weekend.

Best times were:
60'-1.803
1/8-8.31
mph-82.4
1/4-13.13
mph-100.5

Old header:
60'-1.82
1/8-8.22
mph-83
1/4-12.93
mph-103

Nice results. That is moving. I need to try some different headers/exh on Project V...

Do you know who is planning to show up at Cedar Falls next weekend?

Lou

I do not. Ryan Peterson was going to come IF he could set a record, but I don't think CF is a real Slant race, so no records, right? :?

I never saw that it got on the schedule. Whoever was wanting that needed to ask/press for a vote, and I did not see that happen. It was very late, well into the season, as I recall. Next year?
