Played around with it Saturday and it runs. Sounds pretty frisky.

Going down next Saturday to do the final tuning and such.

Then get it up in the air and check the ladder bars. Pretty sure I've got a broken ball in a rod end.

Yeah, I'd really like to avoid that too.

Looked over the bars today, found nothing wrong. Looking at my old slicks it might just have been too much air in them.

Bringing it home next weekend to put the finishing touches on it so I can pull into the Twin $10K race in 2 weeks with 0 hits on the car again.

I always ran 25psi because if I went less the tires would vibrate in 2nd gear it seemed. It was never an issue until I put the 4.86 gears in. Now I went to 10.5's, I'm back at square 1 anyway.

Wow! That's pretty high for slicks isn't it? I always thought slicks were run in the 10-16# area. But I may be all wet too. I ran my M/T drag radials at 18.5# last week, and a max of about 20#

I run radial slicks. They like more air.

Mike ran them at 30 on the Stocker.

Well, with my impending surgery, Cousin Chad came up last weekend and helped load the car. We took it back to the shop and put it up on jackstands for the winter. Finished the season without making a pass because I am just too beat up to climb in and out, especially out.

Surgery to replace my left knee is August 2nd, and I want the right done as soon as possible after that. I will probably be off work 6 months.

Bright side is that when I get done with my knees I will only have about a year until I retire for good.

Sounds very sensible, Dennis. Hope the surgery goes well, and your recovery. There will be racing next year... Hopefully we can get together again soon.

Lou

I've been toying with the idea of lowering the nose of the car a couple inches. Unfortunately since Patrick redid the steering and got the bump steer out of it lowering the torsion bars is not an option.

Firm Feel sells some nice 2" drop spindles. They are only available in the 73 and up spindle. Price is around $600 a pair.

Again, unfortunately my car has 9" brake spindles on it along with a Strange brake kit. Poop.

Now the decision is drop spindles, top ball joint spacers from Dr. Diff, and a $975 Strange brake kit.

As usual, a simple project turns to crap
