The clutch slipps pretty badly on my 77 Volare wagon.
The auto parts store lists 2 clutches available for a /6 Volare, a 9 1/4" and 10".
Would it be safe for me to assume that a wagon would come equipped with a 10" clutch?
It is anly $1 diference in price between the 2 and they only have the 10" clutch in stock.

HELP?!

It is logical to think all the wagons came with 10" clutches, but I can't say for sure whether this was the case in '77. If you have a 9" clutch, you can upgrade to a 10" clutch, but doing so requires some additional parts (special bolts).

How difficult is it to find these special bolts?
Do they cost much?

Pull the inspection plate and check to see if the bolts are a shouldered head or a standard head, that will be the tell all.

A while back at least one of the few companies left making full clutch kits included those bolts in their kit with a new cover and disc, I think it was Hayes...Zoom only provides the disk,cover, and TO bearing....

If needing OEM bolts they may still be available from MP, or can be gotten from a slant Dodge truck with the A-833OD.

Looks like the Chrysler P/N for the 10" clutch bolts 6029 060 is still valid.

I had to get a bunch of mouse nest and acorns outta there but I dont remember what the bolts looked like.
So are the shoulder bolts 9" or 10"

the shouldered bolts dan gave you part number are for ten inch....nine inch is std bolt

Phil, are you sure the clutch is shot - Did you actually run out of adjustment on the threaded rod? I have had clutches slip that just need a bit of adjustment and are happy for another 20,000 Miles.

No The flywheel is the same.

The only difference is the clutch and pressure plate package; which you will get togther at your parts store I am assuming. FWIW, I used all the stock 9" PP bolts when I upgraded to the 10" PP without any problems.

I had checked out the 4-speeds article but not the clutches article. I was about to PM you to see what you are running. The clutches one says the 9 1/4" and 10" clutches use the same flywheel. I'm still going to pull the PP and take it with me to advance auto( the only local parts store that lists clutches for my car) and make sure the bolt holes line up.
