Is there a port on the A904 transmission that can be used to attach a 1/8" NPT temperature sender so I can connect a transmission temperature gauge? Failing that, I have installed a deep transmission oil pan with a drain plug. Would it be advisable to install the sender in the drain hole or should I just use a "T" connection on the "In" line to the radiator cooler?

I would use the return line from the radiator mounted trans cooler and someting like THIS

I used a tee fitting comeing out of the trany. And put the sender in the tee to see how hot the trany was getting. Put the line streight through the fitting. Works nicely.

Mine has a fitting welded into the pan.

If I were putting one in a cooler line, I'd use the line to the cooler. That will tell you what the trans is doing better than the return from the cooler.

T in the line will be easiest.

The T line is quick and easy. I use the line going in to the cooler so I know the trans temp. The line coming out of the cooler will only tell you how effective your cooler is. Trans temp shouldn't be a problem unless you tow a heavy load.
