My 64 Valiant is a 2 door and has the original front bench seat and 3 speed on the column. I am looking at possibly installing a 904 out of a 68 dart. What floor shifter do you guys recommend to use that will still allow me to use and keep the bench seat? Is there anything else I need to look out for to do the swap? The engine is already mated to the transmission so I don’t need to worry about the converter differences and has a polar kick down. I also have a auto trans radiator from a 66 valiant I plan on using. The rear end is a ford 8.8 and I know I most likely need a driveshaft made. Will my standard transmission support and mount work or will I need something different? Will the floor need any mods?

I did the same swap on a '66. Trans mount bolted right up. I did have to modify the point where the floor/tunnel come together on the driver's side to clear the kickdown lever. IIRC, I whacked it with a hammer and all was good.

I used a Hurst Quarter Stick, but shifter choice is really just personal preference.

I used a B&M Sport shifter in my Barracuda with a 1972 904 transmission. It fit under my console and works well.
