 Post subject: Performance estimate?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 20, 2002 7:05 pm
I just completed the buildup of my old slant, and I was wondering what kind of performance I could expect from it (I live at sea level). Mods include:

Aluminum 2 bbl intake w/ Holley carb
.030" overbore
.005" head milling
Stock-spec camshaft
3-angle valve job and update for unleaded gas
All new internals
Full 2 1/4" single exhaust
High flow air filter

I'm a novice engine builder, so any help you veterans can give would be great!

Brian if your car is a driver with no weight loss and has a stock rear gear typical 2.93 or 3.23 you can expect about 18.65 in the 1/4 and about 12.00 in the 1/8 tell me if i am close go blow there doors off. Thanks Ron

The best I've ever got it to is low 20s. But I'm a total greenhorn when it comes to the art of draggin'. That was with me shifting the 904 manually too. But I'm sure if I knew what I was doing, your estimate wouldn't be far off at all. Thanks!
