Hi Guys, A friend just showed me this website.
They have a listing for a 7 inch center to center connection rod under "big block". Maybe you can addapt it or have custom ones made to fit a Slant 6?????

Hello, This is Jim from Cox Brothers Performance Fabrication -we actually sell 7" rods for slant six bolt in application- however they are 4130 chrome moly race rods and are a bit pricey. We also offer other slant six parts and engine/chassis services. Please call 614-268-9920 or you can e-mail us at coxbros66@msn.com if you are interested in receiving one of our parts flyers. Let me know if I can be of any service. Jim

I myself would be interested in the parts that the cox brothers are making, having made, anything for a race slant six. Im looking to build a bullet proof short block. Im looking to get a little bit crazy, but not N/A as I believe the cox brothers are doing.

Does welding the crank journal to accept larger "big block" rods weaken the crank? Welding the crank would seem to be the way to go if it's done right, especially for turbo'd motors. I
don't know of any shop that I'd trust, I'm going to be using 198 rods, but the BB rods sound like a better option.

If bullet proof is what you are looking for, these are the rods for you. The COX BROS RACING TEAM experienced block failure on to different occasions resulting in broken crankshafts. Both times the rods servived unhurt.
