Most of the tracks on the west coast are 1/4 mile we do get time and MPH for the 1/8. I would think an 1/8 mile would still be an 1/8mile even if you run to the 1/4.

Tried the pig,or turtle in the bottom of the manifold tonight,and no great changes.Ran a 7.238 and a 7.259 at lower than best mph.Will try lighter wheels next,then the Hurricain manifold.I WILL get below 7.20.And I got 5 out of 5 reds tonight,just barely,which is good cause I am going with taller front tires Guzzi Mark |

I really think 1/8 th mile times should count on the split at a slant event,gives more info .I am biased but would like to know what other cars run.There are not enough 1/8 mile slant races to not do this.MY OPINION.anyone else?Guzzi Mark |

We can revisit this issue with Seymour after this season. These rules were established before Slant 6 racing existed in the West. There are lots of 1/8th mile tracks in the Southeast, where the series started and is still very strong. Part of the idea was to get people to come to more races and set records. In many cases, that has worked to increase attendance. That is also one reason we only allow official record setting at Slant races - it encourages race attendance and Slanted Network building (meeting face to face). What I would like to know is: Who has ideas on how to increase attendance? Thanks, Lou |
