Wheels on property counts.

Now I HAVE to put nitrous on the Duster!!

If anyone knows about others that were there Sunday, please post here so I can make sure I have the points correct.

Ryan, did you see any other people or their cars/trailers there when you went back?

The race was scheduled for Sunday, so I see no conflict with 5 pts for Sunday attendance also.

Does it count, driving past the track, on the Parkway? :?
Personally, I think, anyone that had planned on staying over to Sunday, should get points. It really wouldn't make sense to actually go to the track, itself, knowing the race was cancelled Sat afternoon. But that's up to you folks.

5 attendance points will still be awarded if your car is in line to enter the grounds of the race track for the scheduled rained out race, or you put your wheels on the track property on the day of the race.

I think we just go with the rule as written. We had long discussions on this in the past and I know some others have made special trips to the track on the morning of a race, when it was raining, just to get the attendance points.

I do seem to remember in years past that those having intended to stay for the following day getting those points, but that may have been before the rule was re-written.

The rules as written is the safest bet. I left Saturday after the fun at Pizza Hut. I even gave up paying for Saturday night at the hotel to go home early.

I didn't see any other slant 6 cars there when I was loading up but that was at 10:30 and I'd imagine everyone would've been gone before that. I am obviously biased in the points discussion so whatever you all decide is fine. Is there a Max number of attendance points that can be earned in a season?

Quote:
- Attendance points will be capped at 60 points per season. These points include regular scheduled races, rained out races, and rescheduled races. If there are two or more races run on the SAME DAY (such as for a rainout makeup), then the racer only accumulates 5 points for the DAY of racing and not for each individual race on that day.

We have had several discussions on the site and banquet about this, and you need to put your feet or car/trailer/tow vehicle wheels on the property on the day of the scheduled race. I decided I did not want to drive 20 miles out of the way to do this on Sunday.

No problem, just putting this out there. 5 points will make no difference to me.

Sorry for the delay. Here are the updated points adding the four racers that got attendance points for Sunday of Clay City, record points for Wes Alumbaugh and the three racers at Sacramento.

The Killer Bees were finally able to line up against each other and put some points on the board at Sacramento with Glen Ambacher winning, Ken Kalis as Runner Up and Rookie Craig Townsend rounding out the trio of racers.

Wes Alumbaugh set the open B/Unlimited record with his Team Green 62 Valiant running the Procharged engine out of the late Dale Rose's Plymouth Arrow to gain 20 points.

The four racers that stayed over to collect their cars and receive 5 additional attendance points were Ryan Covalt, Ron Hamby, Joel Harris and Brian Droschak. That puts Ryan a solid 40 points ahead of the Poser in 2nd and Ron Hamby edged out Rick Covalt for 5th.

There are three race weekends left in the 2018 season with Redding, CA 29-30 September, Mason-Dixon, MD 6-7 October and the rescheduled Knoxville race 26-27 October.

The top 2 racers have now won rounds at 5 events, so they are both going to start giving up points to the "Over 5" Rule. The Poser from Kentucky will be finishing up the nitrous install on his Duster in hopes of setting the open B/Nitrous record and getting himself back within striking distance of the leader with those 20 record points.

Jackie Everhardt III is sitting in 3rd and just 30 points away from the Poser. He is also planning on putting nitrous on his truck to try and re-set the pretty soft D/Nitrous record currently held by Ryan Covalt. Jackie is coming off a good finish at Clay City winning 3 rounds and will hopefully have the opportunity to finish up the last three rounds from Clay City at the end of October.

With Rob and Jackie scheming it may force Ryan to go to Knoxville for that final race. We will see what happens at Mason-Dixon in 17 days!!

Jack Everhardt Jr., Ron Hamby and Rick Covalt are all in a close battle for 4-6 and will be duking it out. A couple clean sweeps at the upcoming races for any of those three and it could be a whole different ball game.
