DI, Have you ever checked the timing displacement, between the two pickups on a stock twin pick up no advance mopar distributor? IE: timing using pickup #1 at zero, timing of pickup #2 at ? without moving the distributor. I just bought a NOS dual pickup and am thinking of trying it on my engine, and switching pickups to alter timing as needed.

Yes, the last OEM dual pickup ESC distributor I ran was a 10 degree change when switching between pickups.

That being said... I have "made" a specialty plate from spare pickups and been able to redrill and reclock a pickup for 15 degree swing....

Hope that helps.

I think 10 degrees will work fine for me. I can run one pickup NA, and use the retarded pickup when spraying nitrous. Right now I am using a fixed single pickup at 18 degrees total. That would allow me 28 * NA, and my 18* on spray, by just flipping a switch. Just bought a NOS dual from ebay for $25.00
Thanks for the info

You could use a DPDT relay activated along with the nitrous solenoid to switch between distributor pickups.

That's my plan. I have a WOT switch on the carb. It activates, the relays for the 1st nitrous stage, and the alternator field cutout. I will add the ign retard relay to be triggered by the nitrous relay. That way, if I don't arm the nitrous system, the retard will not happen.
