When I got the Dart (-) battery to block was landed on one of the water pump attachment bolts; it was untidy
eye sore in my book. I relocated that connection to lower power steering pump attachment bolt which worked well electrically. This location was a royal PIA to access as PS pump and half of the bracket had to be removed to access attachment bolt, additionally front header tube interfered with retracting PS hinge bolt.

After frigging around for several hours of trying to get PS pump pulley to align with damper pulley with various shims and tweaking of bracket the goal was achieved without ground strap.

I'm wondering where others have located grounding conductor's bonding location.

You can try under a motor mount bolt as one possibility, or to the motor mount bracket.

Some of the factory cars had it from a trans bellhousing/engine mount bolt on the pass side to the firewall. I usually put mine on one of the motor mount bracket bolts on the block to the K frame.

For now it's back onto one of the water pump bolts, not ideal where pump is aluminum. Engine mount bolt access too difficult due to headers and TRW PS pump bracket being in the way.

Trans to engine bolt would require a longer grounding conductor than what I current have, but I like that idea.

Mine was factory from a trans bellhousing/engine mount bolt on the pass side to the firewall, so that's where it stayed, never in the way there.

Most of the systems I have seen, has the cable going from the negative battery post to one of the power steering bracket bolts. Also a smaller gauge from the bell housing bolt, or valve cover bolt to the firewall.
