Owning up to my mistake in hopes it might help someone else.

In doing the HEI ignition upgrade, wiring removal and general clean up of the harness and connections, etc., I became overly zealous and removed the voltage regulator from the system.
Why would I do such a thing?
Well, I thought it was the electronic ignition box, to be replaced by the newly installed HEI and I was too hasty with my wirecutters (and my brain).

Forgive me as I'm mostly new to MOPAR, except for that 73 Dodge Dart Sport with the 318ci that I drove cross country around 1990...until the plugged radiator blew off the top hose at 70mph and turned my entire windshield green, around Lincoln, NE, but that is another story for another day. 8)

I hate it for ya man, you are the first person to post here that has made a mistake working on his car.
:D
Uh oh, I almost forgot. I let me car slide off the jack the other day, partially crushing the nearly new gas tank and causing it to leak around the sending unit. So, that makes two of us.

Have a noise in my just repaired race engine (3 passes on it). Won't know for sure till I pull it apart, but I think I forgot to tighten the rod bolts on #5.

I venture to say, everyone that posts here, has had more then one screw up.

In the same boat and paddling, we are...

Have a new regulator on the way and reinstalled the old one using wire nuts for a quick swap out.
