Unless you can lay your hands on a super six distributor, its just gambling when buying a reman distributor what you get for a governor....

The next best option is welding the existing slot or buying one of the 4secondsflat limiter wheels...

That would be correct...parts stores only carry the distributor as a full assembly... so you order a reman
distributor and take your chances... even Ma Mopar only would provide a governor with the fully assembled
shaft assembly for the distributor...so you would get the shaft, springs, counterweights, governor, clip,
and felt button as a unit if you ordered such a thing in 1978. That's why most discussions on recurves
usually get to the part about welding the slot, installing a spacer, installing the limiting wheel...or getting
lucky in the local junkyard and grabbing the 3874876 distributor....

If I could have ordered just the 9R governor in the past...I would have bought the lot and there would
have been a lot more DI recurves on the market... just sayin...

The four seconds flat plate is a good alternative forvwhat you are trying to do.

That is a pretty slick piece! I might have to order a couple. That sure beats filling and filing, although that information is available elsewhere on this site.

Yep - - - fo' sho.

I don't have one yet but I think I have to go and by some of their stuff and try it out.

That Plate is simple but genius.
