Hello all,

My turbo\EFI build. Using 8pin GM Electronic Ignition Module, triggered from Chrysler Electronic Distributor. 1986 Pontiac Computer firing MPFI. Twin Nissan 300ZX Turbo's. All systems are working, pulsing injectors and have good spark. Doing some final wiring and only hours away from firing it up!!!

So.... How does the vacuum advance work on these turbo charged cars? Is there a boost level at which I will be pressurizing the system rather than creating vacuum? The car (71 Plymouth Valiant) is a street/strip. Mostly street. Has anyone ported the vacuum ahead of the turbocharger rather than from the intake manifold/throttle body?

You should have a 3 Bar MAP sensor in your plan.

Maybe the computer will control the timing? What would you recommend setting initial timing to? THANKS

Ill check on the MAP Sensor. I thought they were all 1 Bar MAP sensors.

A 1 bar sensor would be out of range at anything beyond atmospheric pressure and be out of range with any boost. A 2 bar sensor would be good up to almost 15 psi boost. 3 bar up to almost 30, etc.

On those CPUs the initial timing is 0

The trick is to get it to idle at 0. That's a good test of your initial setup.

The whole Idea of a 7/8 pin module is to control timing.
Get a MSD module .

You will need to get a new chip burned for your cpu....or....you will quickly move to a more flexible system.

Id get it running without any boost first.
