anyone know the weight of my car 1974 plymouth duster slant six or who has weighed their car of similar stature?
took it to the track again pulled best at 11.7@61mph

gonna do some carb tuning runs real rich at low rpms it almost feels fine when the secondaries kick in no bog that i could see.still looking for a 225 engine to start my rebuild.Project right now 8 3/4 rear end 4.10s posi goin in soon with 904 shift kit, and dry to put the duster on a diet without tearing out back seats i do have bench and need to get buckets though.

74-76 Dusters are heavy. Mine was 3300 after I took off the A/C and power steering.

Dont forget those heavy crash bars in the 73-76 doors either. You can sure tell the earlier doors are lighter

I have a pair of Duster doors that we stripped the bars out of. #15 each side.

The crash bumpers are the killers. It is pretty easy to get #100 out of them.

Well i know the doors and bumpers are heavier on my 74 but i looked at the front bumper and looked like there was nothing to delete i mean there was only the bumper tower thingys or mounts that hold the bumper that i could see unless your talking about the rear bumper. Cuz i ran my hand all around the backside of the front bumper and it was only bumper besides what holds it on so i don't see what there is to take off and i have no A/C ,nor power brakes but i do enjoy the power steering.

oh and smoked some honda at a light tonight i'm sure no great accomplishment considering my car is prolly a high 18 second car but eh who cares roasted him with the stock gears and 15'/255s so worse than stock gear

ok so update going to buy my 4.10 gears and posi to install into the 8 3/4 rear end then gotta put that in while i have the car apart i'm going to put a 3000rpm slant six converter in there so hopefully it'll wake the car right up. Any estimates or guesstimates on how much time i'll pick up? my current 1/8 mile time is 11.8@ 61

I am doing the same thing, Trans is in the shop for a rebuild with a 3000 stall and shift kit, and a 4.10 sure grip. Hoping to get at least a second out of it! I run at 18 flat in the quart and 11.5 in 1/8. From what i hear it will help alot. Good luck with your build and hope to see you go faster.

Spanked my friends 73 vw beetle the other day. Oh going tommorow for gears and posi,also fixed my charging problem no popping or bog that i know of now the voltage regulator was bad and i guess i wasn't gettin enough power to the plugs at some points cuz it would act as if they were fouled out despite being cleaned that day.
The car feels to be pulling stronger than ever despite the heavier and taller tires so hopefully good updates next time i hit the track.
