That Mandel Drive is a( I think) Moroso SB 350 Unit.. It bolts to the Romac Dampener Nicely!

its this one.. Just confirmed the part # today.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/mor-63859

Comes with the v pulleys as well as timing / Gilmer belt pulley.
I dont think it will bolt up to a stock dampener.. but I am not certain on that.

I got the Break in Oil Drained and filled with new fresh oil and Changed the trans fluid / filter as well. It's been about 4 years since I put fresh trans fluid in, and Rick at A&A Trans says the Aluminum Drums need more frequent fluid changes to keep things kosher and clean down there.

I bought and installed a new Mechanical Oil Pressure Gauge as I didn't trust the other 2 I had in there and wanted to make sure the readings were accurate.

Also Have been thinking about this....
Image
the little Plumbing "T" that feeds the shutoff switch and the Mechanical Oil Pump Gauge are just Hanging into the block with about 3/4" of 1/8" NPT Nipple. I know a few of us have had issues with Brass NPT Nipples breaking an cracking, so I am going to redo that with an Aluminum Distribution Block installed on the firewall or elsewhere. It will get fed from the block with 1/8 NPT to -3 AN Line. Should solve / isolate "NPT Crack Pipe" problems.

A few more things to do:
*Got Some Fresh Seat Belts to go in
*Set / Check Timing and adjust offset in tunerstudio
*Put (the real) Tires and wheels back on - I don't let the slicks freeze in the winter.
* Slam the Trunk / Hood / Front end on
*New Rocker panels are ordered, Just need to install, The Aluminum ones are cool, but they get smashed around the pits on the trailer and start to fall apart and are on "Crack".
Plastic rockers should be more durable... and possibly heavier :-( The Scale Tale will have to tell.
I might be able to make up for that by Hole-sawing the difference out of the real metal rockers underneath. Especially if I take all the weight out of the left side :-o

Then It's Racing time. I am sure there will be more stuff to sort out and get tuned

We'll See.

Rockin on the rocker panels.

Since I have some time and there is no racing or car shows or crowds for the foreseeable future... I am working on some non essential crap that bugged me about the car.

The rocker panel extensions that I put on were super light, but they were thin aluminum so they got bent up and started to break and crack.
They were also very low so they made it hard to get on the trailer and to jack up or work under the car.

Pics..
Old panels.. removed.. bent and cracked.

New panels. Dirt Late model type.

Prep the old rocker panel.. scraped all the stickers off and put some holes in for the Dzus fastners' weld plates.

Weld plates welded and ground.

A bit tricky to see on the lift..new panels mostly installed. Nice thing is that they are removable and they should bend , but go back to their original shape.

Thanks Lou, I just got to working on the other side last night, and finally got the Right side all finished.
The Dirt Rocker panels Remove with 11 Dzus Fasterners which might be too many; but they are sturdy, and I don't want any of that aero stuff blowing off on the track.

The removable Rockers will be nice for functionality however!

You are doing work, I know but people love to see what's going on in your dart. They have a hard time imagining all that welding, grinding and sparks flying..

:D

We've got a guy at work who still carries a flip phone.

I'd probably get a lot more done if I still had one.
