Just joined and havin' a a pain gettin' around in here! Anyway, just bought a '66 /6 Barracuda automatic on the floor. Supper 225, fresh rebuild, bored .040 over so now
a 230. 3 speed torqueflite trans. Is this a 904 like the ones that came in the same car w/manual 3 speed? What gearing does the rear end have. This car is stock original.
Just turned 80,000 miles today.
I can get a stock rear end from a '66 non-fs Cuda but the guy doesn't know what the gearing is. What rear end (s) would have come stock in a '66 non-fs 273? Looking to upgrade to an 8+3/4 rear end. Thanks.

Anyway, the rearend your friend has is most likly a 7 1/4, like the one already in your car. most 7 1/4 have the gear ratio stamped on the housing so have him scrape off the grease to find the ratio.
