Can someone please tell me how much oil does a 225 slant six take with the filter.... my dip stick broke off.... im also looking for a new or used dip stick... the dip stick broke off i thoght it would be in the oil pan but i took it offf and it wasnt in the pan ????? can anyone help me with this

If you are using the good (long) filter such as a Wix 51515, NAPA 1515, Purolator L30001, the oil capacity is 5 quarts.

Your dipstick was probably "eaten" by the crankshaft. That happens when the dipstick tube gets bent outward, pushing the bottom of the dipstick inward into the path of the spinning crank. Put a post in "Parts Wanted" for a dipstick, and be sure to specify your make, model, engine, and year.

I just used any dipstick I could find at a junkyard, after changing the oil I made a new level mark. Looks like a dipstick, acts like a dipstick.

thanks for the help dan.... if the dipstick was eaten by the crank do you think it cuased some damage or is this common and what should i do

No damage other than the broken dipstick. All you need to do is install a replacement dipstick and gently bend the dipstick tube upward a little so the top of the tube is a little straighter up and down.
