What should I bring with me in addition to me, money, and the car. And, is the race fee paid to the track, or to you Rick?

Sam

Please just add "sunshine" to your list Sam. Don't know of anything else you really need to bring.

When you enter the facility, you will pay your $35, and tell them you are racing. They will give you your tech card, and then just head on in and look for us.

After the race is finished I will go to the owner and he will give me the $25 for each car and then I will do the payouts.

Thanks, Rick

PS. Just a reminder, you must have long pants and a shirt with sleeves. (short sleeves are fine)

Thanks Rick. How about lunch?. Is there a group thing of some kind I should contribute to?. How about tools? Should I bring a basic tool set of some kind? I assume others will have some, but don;t know the customs, and if sharing is encouraged or discouraged. We have ten techs at work. And even though basic human nature is fundamentally to share they have learned not to share tools much, as it can lead to hard feelings if tools are damaged or don't come back for some reason.

You can borrow any tool from anybody in our group, Sam. That's how we roll. You could bring some tools if you like, or there will be some available. You should bring a helmet - can be motorcycle or whatever. Your car may not run that fast (13.99 or faster??), but nice to have one in case.

I think Greg will have his grill, so maybe some lunchy type stuff to throw on there or sides? There are "trackburgers" and similar there too. Unless someone volunteers to organize lunch, we often just graze on our own there. I always bring fruit, lots of water, sunglasses, and a big hat.

Definitely make sure you have comfortable long pants and shoes that are good for pedaling.

I just did valve lash, polished valve cover, checked timing and plugs, and rejet the carb last night on Project V - ready to rock. I will 99% be there Friday eve.

This is gonna be great!

Lou

Thanks for the tips Lou. I don't own a helmet of any kind. It would be nice to think I needed it because of car's speed, but doubt if it is that fast. I used to have a motorcycle, but got rid of gear years and years ago.

There will probably be a helmet to borrow, if needed. You're right it probably won't.

Sam, I will bring an extra helmet in case you need one. I will be there friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I might run in the street class friday if anyone is interested in racing. If not I will at least be their friday for test and tune.

Thanks Ryan. And thanks again for posting the photo of your Z hood. That would be cool of someone produced a nice piece like that for a Dart.

I'll be coming down tomorrow evening. I doubt I'll get there intime for time trials. I probably won't get on the road till 5:00 so it will be around 8:30 by the time I arrive. Is anyone staying at the track friday night?
I am planning on sleeping in the car. With the back seat folded down I can get a twin air matress in there, so I should be comfortable.

Post subject: Rain Checks (Thu Jul 29, 2010 7:01 pm) Reply with quote

To all those who were here on the Saturday that got rained out, please bring those rain checks with you. Tell them at the gate that these were from the rained out Slant 6 series race, and you should be able to use them for the race this Saturday.

Phil, Ryan, I and some others are coming down before 5:00PM tomorrow evening. Not sure who is staying at the track. Lou and Greg are supposed to be coming also.

See you there,

Rick
