What's up with your dart?

Do you need parts?

I've just taken it apart because that engine is going into hannahs valiant. I am working with dusteridiot to get my new engine with a super lumpy cam. I bought a cam from josh that should be wicked. Other than that, I just need a kick in the butt!

** hey THOR, Kewl On the engine build! **

Ok I'm done ... the car is chilling out and tomorrow @ noon she gets her tires swaped over and a fresh allignment. Gonna drive her down old 99 to drop her off, she should be ready around 5pm. I still wanna advance the timing and dink with the carb a bit but I am very happy with my progress.
still no gas or temp gauge and she needs me to put 2 & 1/4 Exhaust all the way back wich I will when I have the time .. I have the parts.

I pulled the instrument cluster, The pins where all loose and it needed new lights.

Noel and I tore back into the rear to add a new ring and pinion so here is that:

fronts bled and finished ... and holy freaking $#!+ it STOPS!

parked outside after my test drive

and of course a plug for the shop Smile

Thank you for all the comments and views, this was a very fun project with a LOT more to come.

Cheers

MiDi

So I pick the 69 up from alignment and she was running kinda rough, so I bring her back here and got the timing and the carb dialed in just right. I finish my shift @ work, wash the car and head off to go see my g/f .....

well right at "Keelers Corner" ( A vintage 1940's gas station ) my dart dies .....

Noel is busy and everyone else went home already, so there is no one to fire up the shops tow rig or even hook up a dolly. So I called Skip's Towing, they are just down old Broadway from us. So 75.00 to tow my ass back, they did get there really quick but still Mad

got her back to the shop:

I had plenty of Fuel

now to check spark ... none

my test light shows the ballast resistor & coil are good.

I swaped the ECU module and she started right up.

I am limping the car to Redmond tonight, on another used one that looks like it spent the last 30years @ the bottom of a septic tank.
I have a orange box ECU coming down from the Mopar dealer tomorrow @ 10am.

Should I be concerned about Blowing out an ECU?

Today I got the smallest and lightest starter I could find for Emma, And I slapped it on just a short while ago.

I also now have a new voltage limiter so I will attempt to install it with the Instrument Cluster still in the dash ... It should be frustrating but I do have a some what clear path to it. I have decided to keep the /6 in this car for now but that means that I am pulling the motor anyways to replace every gasket in it. Also Noel and I have been playing with some Fuel Injection Ideas and when we get a clear plan I will post our progress.

Right now I am gearing up for the Big shop move down to the Port of Everett. But I will enjoy some of that Heavy Industrial Zoning and no one around for miles after 7pm. I have all my shop trucks and moving trucks ready for the task, let's hope it goes quickly!

Cheers!

ok a quick update, i got the voltage limiter in the back of the cluster and I now have a working gas gauge. yay! Smile still having some temp gauge issues, the sender was junk so that got changed out, but the wire (engine loom) going to it was pinched under the valve cover by who ever owned the car before me. Mad so anyways that will be replaced on monday. ( i only get one day off a week and sunday is my sleep day! )

The next projects are:
nos pwr steering pump install
engine re-gasket (pull) and inspection ... new oil pump and maybe a slightly agressive cam. (I already did a head job and she is 10.1)
proper 2 & 1/2 pipe and a plain jane flow master
new dash pad and minor interior work w/ aftermarket radio
body and paint prep
f8 green and black paint
rear sway bar

and the end game is:
multi port injection and turbo ( on a moded 1bbl intake )
we have a used turbo collection @ the shop ... I'm thinking of around 10/15psi for boost ... she will not need much
aftermarket wheels?

and every day I put 60 to 80 miles on the old girl and she purrs!

right now her current specs are:
disc breaks - manual
225 /6 1bbl holley 1920
727 trans
7 & 1/2 rear 3.55 w/ locker 10" drums
24mpg hwy w/ retro style ... every mile!

thanks again for the views and comments ...

MiDi
