I think they are, but under a different name.. Possibly Different owners..

I googled it and it came up with a place that I drove by yesterday called Sigmund auto wreckers...

They are between adamsburg and 136 on Edna Road..

Is this where the Old adamsburg place was that you are talking about?

Must be. If I remember about less than a mile from RT30. Thinking that a trucking company was next to it.
The whole reason behind all of this,I was wondering where you do your junkyard shopping ??

I like the Pick a parts.... There are a few around.. I usually go to the one out near linden Hall Golf Course.. in Dawson PA. There's also one in Tarentum that Sponsors Pittsburgh Racway Park.. But I have never gone to that one yet.

Secrest auto wreckers (now the pic-a-part Dawson) at one time was THE place with hundreds of classic and muscle cars.(new back then)rows and rows of cars all catagorised my make. They used to advertise at the "Super 71" drive-in on the big screen movies. Now a Walmart.Things that stick in my mind were a Road Runner air grabber hood complete for $50. Engines were sold $1.00 per cubic inch.A 833 four speed with Hurst shifter $100 bucks.Got that for my Duster. The last car I bought there was a 65 Belvedere complete for $300 bucks.Barry Hickey still has that car.The funny thing that Melvin (the owner) would do was smell and kiss the cash payment before adding it to a huge wad in his pocket. Very Happy Very Happy

The last time I was a Secrest (3 Years ago) was right after they crushed all the cars. I found the remains of 1 Dart and 3,000 mini vans. Evil or Very Mad

Do I really need the filter or can I remove it and bypass it? There aren't any emission standards where I live but if it will hurt my fuel economy enough I guess I'll have to keep it.

You should keep the charcoal can system in functional condition; it works for you, not against you. See here.

Thanks for the info I really appreciate it. I am trying to tune this engin for a good fuel economy/tork application. I plan on using this truck as an everyday driver and I work my vehicles to the bone. I was really impressed with what I red on slant 6 engines and that is why I bought it but he more I read the more confusing it gets. Just gotta learn a bit more I think but there is always more.

I'm thinking replacing my canister. Is the SMP CP3167 still recommended? Are there any other tried and true options I could choose from?
