The phone rang and it was time to go to the car. Luckily the car came out fine!! So I was very pleased.
Off course there was some scratching to do, but not to much. So we were off to Martin:
Seeing the car I was very happy, because indeed it didn't look to bad and there weren't any more nasty surprises!

Martin blows some of the sand away, so we can start scratching

All the parts that need some more attention are clearly visible so no problem there. Let the scratching begin!

After scratching the car Martin takes us to a friend with a lot of useful information. This is what makes these kind of project worth it. Meeting people who share the same passion and willing to guide you!! :good:
Well, Martin still has some sandblasting to do! After that he will put a thin layer of epoxy so we can still weld it quit easy.
We hope the car will be finished Saturday, but maybe it will take a couple of days more. No problem, cause I got all the time!!

It is cool to see someone put this sort of effort into a 4 door! Very cool project, cant wait to hear more about it in the future.

Thx, I really like this car and also can't wait. But there is a lot to do. Everywhere are little holes. So the coming years I won't feel bored.
If you click the photo's you can see them in 4000+ resolution.

Following along on your project. If you're set on swapping to a V8, there's no need to swap K Frames - Schumaker Creative Services (not sure on the spelling) has kits to install a V8 into a 67 and later A Body keeping the slant K Frame. However, in swapping to a V8, you're going to need to upgrade in other areas as well - cooling, definitely better brakes, possibly a better rear end than the 7.25 just to start.
My wife and I have been t0 the Netherlands several times to see my son. He lives in Hoofddorp and works at Schiphol. He's been there since 88 and is married to a very nice Dutch lady.
I'm in the process of working on a 65 V8 4 speed 65 Barracuda which will eventually end up being transported to the Netherlands. It will be my son's early inheritance!

Hi,
Thx for your info. I indeed found Schumacher, but just liked the idea of the V8 K-member. At this moment we probably go for an alternative. As part of the rest I want Wilwood brakes but don't know yet what size wheels I want. Don't want it to be too big, but also like some good stopping power. I still have to figure out what will be a good choice of wheels. As I have to decide with photo's,.... rrrr
The suspension will be upgraded as well and now also looking for a Dana60. The Dana60 and suspension will be my first buy, because then we can start measuring things.
We will also reinforce the chassis by connecting the front frame to the rear and making some additional reinforcements.
All of this will cost me a lot of money, but I don't care to much about resell value as I don't plan to sell anymore. It's a good thing the total time will take me at least more then a year or two.
Hoofddorp is about a 1,5 hour drive from where I live. For the Netherlands that's quit far away! In a few years when my car is ready, give me a call. Then maybe we can meet and show you the car in real life.

| Looks like a fun project. Thats gonna be a beautiful car! Already is! Plymouth nailed it on the proportions of these 4 door cars. I'm partial to them as I drive a '72 Valiant daily!

Thx, I do have fun and hope the car will indeed look great. But since it's my first car-project we'll have to wait.
Also really like the proportions! Feel free to post a photo of your beauty!
