I washed the Dart in preparation for a nice week of warm dry weather._________________ 67' Dart GT Convertible; the old Chrysler Corp.

One sprinkled for 5 seconds today, the rest of the time was cloudy or sunny...
Non-oiling 11.5:1 motor came out of the hpak duster....
New 11.75:1 SCR motor came off the stand, mated spec stage 4 clutch and iron A-833OD to engine and dropped it in....(I'm swearing off iron A-833OD's...they are stronger, but are murder on your back), also using
new black poly mounts from J.Spiva, hopefully these are a bit stiffer than the blue ones I had (those will go into the green car).
Driveline, clutch linkage, shift linkage all bolted in without a hitch.
Things were going so well, and it was quiet in the neighborhood, I almost took a nap under the car...
Since this engine is getting the Dutra Fat pack, I cut the head pipes off that were configured for Dutra Duals and have a set of headers I purchased last week in Vancouver from a guy working on a V-8 project
(360 E58 from a 1976 Dart Cop Car to a 1968 Valiant Signet...and he's doing the job right, kudos to a mopar guy that feels that the slant six stuff should go to slant guys and not just thrown out as worthless junk).
Hopefully I get this done, broke in and dialed in before test and tunes are over.
If the weather is good tomorrow, I'll button up the engine bay, and need to put some time in on the green car getting it cleaned up in case this experiment doesn't pan out...

Sounds like good progress for everyone. DI, can't wait to hear how that one runs.
As for me, I finally figured out my wastegate issues on the '68 Dart. See the post under "Boost" section for my full writeup. 6-7 psi limited now, just like the advertised spring rate I ordered. Happiness. Plus I can easily increase it with a little leak/bleed.
Got dimmer switch interior light hooked up on Sun mini tach in the yellow Valiant too.
Member Jack Everhardt is on his way to visit this afternoon from Bristol and pick up a few parts.

| Changed oil & filter and air filter on Chase's Demon. He watched - next time he do! Battery comes next as well as looking at the brakes. Clutch will follow. My bro came to look at the car - drooled all over it. May have a slant convert - he will most likely join us at Clay City this year.

My weekend consisted of getting a surprise phone call from my girlfriend that she had gotten into a car wreck when she was on the way to surprise me. Turns out my friend got into a head on collision when he pulled out on to the highway from a side street with her in the car, and she forgot to mention that they were ok, so the Dart got a 20 mile "road course" test, and other than the sloppy power assisted steering, it did very well. The car was destroyed (Ford Taurus at 10 miles an hour), the other vehicle was a Jeep wrangler going 60-70 Miles an hour and it wasn't very damaged (buckled fenders). The driver, my friend, sustained neck injuries and a concussion. Luckily though no one was beat up too badly, its a bad corner and he wasn't used to driving that vehicle, besides that I really didn't do anything interesting with the Dodge, I cleaned it.

Finished tweaking the distributor. It now sets at 16* BTDC with a 9R governor along with a Chrysler short fat spring with a 3/8" loop and a black spring from the mopar spring kit. The vacuum advance is adjusted 7 turns in and is hooked up to the right vacuum port next to the idle screws on the Autolite 2100.
I also installed some Panasonic 3 1/2" speakers using the speaker bracket from '74 Sport. Next weekend i will be to installing the head unit. I almost wish some kid had hacked up the dash in the past. But alas, that did not happen, now I need to get creative.
It snowed this morning, the next major performance mod may be a set of tire chains...
23 days till Vegas.
