I can vouch! That lady can put a meal together! That and wring out a car or bike. Careful, 'Zilla might put her behind the wheel of something one of these days! I think Caroline would take to drag racing! Very Happy

The first thing on a Southern recipe is "Go to nearest highway and pick up whatever dead critter you see first". Shocked

Hmmm. Doesn't sound that much different from recipes in these parts.

We're only three races into the season, but I'm still pretty confident in most of my predictions... Laughing

Okay, I'll get this party started! Very Happy

Here's some of my predictions for the 2012 racing season. Feel free to add to this list. Anything goes. Do a copy/paste to keep it going like the Best times and Records threads. Wink

1. Of course, I have to start it off by predicting that Mater (me Laughing ) is gonna whoop up on Cookie (wvenable) in "The Ultimate Slant 6 Grudge Match"! It won't be heads up, cuz even my "slow" car will be faster than his. Wink I'll even give him a chance and we'll do the best 3 out of 5 deal. Ain't I generous? Laughing ** Still and always will be a No Brainer! Wink Razz

2. I will make some passes in more than 1 Slant 6 vehicle this year. Wink ** I've run GodsRods Duster II already, plan to race Chase's new '74 Duster at Woodburn and borrow sumthin' fer Mason-Dixon. That's three! Very Happy Laughing

3. We will see at least a dozen brand new faces join us over the course of the year. ** Only three races into it and we already have 8 Rookies! Very Happy Very Happy

4. The National Champion Traveling Trophy will stay out West with the Killer Bees again this year. Yes,... I'm an East Coaster. I'm also somewhat of a realist. Shocked At least when it comes to other people... Laughing ** Still a long way to go on this one... Laughing

5. Guzzi Mark will have some issues with his new nitrous set up at Vegas, but will work at it until he re-sets the A/Nitrous record later in the season. His other A and B/Gas records will be safe this year, but someone will take the C/Gas record. ** No issues at Vegas and he took the B/Nitrous from Doug Dutra. Didn't quite get the A/Nitrous because he was just a tad heavy. Came right back at Sacramento to take the A/Nitrous ET record from Will Burns with a 10.57! Shocked No one has threatened any of his Gas records yet, but I still think someone will get the C/Gas. (Not that he won't turn right around and take it back! Laughing )

6. We will finally see a couple Slant 6 powered dragsters show up to set some of the new AA records. Brent Laney will set the bar nice and high at the Mo-Kan race 28 April in the "Green Grenade". He and Mark Goodman have teamed up again to build a sweet looking FED. It's good to see Team Green back in action with another Slant 6 project! Very Happy ** Brent wasn't the one driving the FED at Mo-Kan. Shocked It was Haliegh Laney. Very Happy (Brent was driving one of their original Team Green cars. Check out the Event Calendar thread for details and PICs! Wink )

7. We will see at least three people return to race with us that have been absent for several years. ** Brent Laney makes the first one. Wink He's been absent since 2003! Shocked Mark Goodman was apprently satisfied with sponsoring the race and handing the keys over to Austin Goodman. Very Happy I'll have to nudge some other folks to get their Slant 6 cars out of storage... Howard Davis and Barry Harrison would make it three... Besides, Howard is itching for a re-match to their last grudge match. Wink Very Happy

8. Mason-Dixon will have the highest car count for the year. ** It's looking good right now with close to 20 names on the tentative roster... Wink

Next... Very Happy

Sounds sweet, Mark. Might see you again in LA this summer, or at a Western Slant race? I'm looking seriously at Speed Week, so think about it.

I predict I will reset the (soft) D/unlimited record to the mid 14s or better at Hagerstown. Walking it down... Or, hopefully Tom Wolfe will show up to a race and set it down by 3 seconds or so!

Lou
