Ok i started the swap from a three on the tree to a four speed a833. My van is a 1972 and the trans is out of a late 70s early 80s model. Am i going to need a new flywheel and clutch assembly, or is the crankshaft going to pose a problem? New carankshaft? Im really hoping NO on the crankshaft. Or would it be better to buy a bellhousing for a 70-74 4 speed?

3-speed to 4-speed is easy so long as you aren't using the NP435 which you're not. You should be able to keep the existing flywheel and clutch so long as they are in good shape. Same with the crank. You will need a different bellhousing.

Alright thank you. What year should the bellhousing be from, or is it a 4 speed bellhousing from my year van.

i was looking around and the trans is off of an 81-86 dodge truck that normally takes a 122 tooth flywheel. Mine is a 143 tooth flywheel i believe. Is there a recommended website or place to find a bellhousing that will fit both my block and tranny?

Is the tranny an 833OD? I have a bell and shifter.
The OD bell has a larger center hole. The shifter is from a van. No rods.

I also have an entire van set up.
