All loaded and ready to head out in the morning.

Rick

PS. Do they still do open test runs before the qualifying runs?

We got rain both days but we were able to get both races in.

Rick Covalt won Friday night with Gary Bruner the runner up.

Ron Hamby won tonight with Mike Andreas runner up.

There was some really good races and a couple of records set too. I think Charlie set the C nitrous record and I set the open D nitrous 1/8 record.

Thanks to Ron an Kay for all the work to put together a great race!

I got to run 22 passes during the 2 days of racing. It's always great to come here and race!

I know others will post more results and pictures too.

Cool! Congrats to Rick and to Ron for the wins, and nice to see some new/unusual faces around (Mike A - congrats too).

Ryan, was this nitrous on the blue truck, or what car??

Wish I could have made it and see y'all at Clay City...

Lou

Lou, the nitrous was on Whitneys purple 74 duster. 10.6813 at 67.42 mph. Should be the slowest record ever set. But at least we have a benchmark now. The car ran 11.70s on motor and it knocked off a full second with 40hp shot. I considered 100hp but the car only has a single track rear and the stock fuel system wouldn't have been sufficient either. I figured it was better to drive back home than blow up another slant 6 vehicle. Had a good weekend and am looking forward to clay city!

We got home about 6:00 this evening too. Glad you made it home safe and sound Charlie!

Thanks to Ron And Kay, the track folks, and to the Dealership for the great purse they always supply us with!

We had a great time just spending time with our family and our "slanted" family, and it doesn't hurt to win a race every 5 years or so! I will post some pictures tomorrow for everyone to see.

We went out to dinner about 9:30PM last night and guess who was at Applebees? The whole crew from the track including the owner! Probably 12 or so people there. When I saw them I walked over and told them again how much we appreciated them having us there. When they all left, Pat (Owners name I think) came to our table and told us that we are welcome to come back anytime we want! Nice people.

Rick

Wow. What a great time. Great to hear everyone got home ok. I too made it home in one piece.

Before this weekend I'd never even won a heat let alone get into the finals. Thanks for all the runs. I think I may have finally got my car sorted out. Ron, What a wild last run. I'l never forget it. Can't wait to see the video. Thanks to the track for being so together.

Ron and Kay. Thanks for hosting such a great event.
