I Updated the post above also, but the first time runs for Slant 6 will be at 3:00PM. Tech should be open at 2:00 or 2:30. So we will have a afternoon / evening race for Saturday and we will have plenty of time to bench race Saturday morning.

Just to clarify -- "Saturday - First time run 3:00PM $35 race / $10 Spectator "

There will be time runs PRIOR to 3pm in other classes right?

Still trying to determine what time we want to show up on saturday.

Look forward to seeing you there, Tom! I have done some stuff to my turbo car too, so hopefully we can run heads up??

Not sure about time runs on Sat, but the way I read it there is nothing definite until 3 PM for testing and our Slant 6 race on Saturday. I would guess they would let us have a few time runs before that, but that is only my guess. If you show up earlier, you can have more time to get to know the Slanted Family (sung to "Addams Family" song). Sunday will be busy...

OK, another newbie question -- what are their food prices like? Carlise type prices (have to remortgage the house to buy lunch/dinner/water) or damn near free prices?

The menu shows they have a lot of the typical options.....but am on a budget.

There will be some food provided by the Slant 6 racers, but I am unclear on what at this point. Usually we have a substantial spread and I don't buy anything. I try to throw a few bucks in the kitty, if they let me... I do not remember the food prices being high at all at the vendors, but maybe others can chime in. Not like Carlisle... Oh, I think I bought a burger last time and it was about $3-4.

Saturday is a National Harley event. So the only runs in the morning through early afternoon will be bikes. Not exactly sure how that happened but I don't think we will get any runs before 3:00PM give or take. If Elmer sees us there and there are not a huge amount of bikes he may let us have an extra practice run. But don't count on it.

Quote:
Friday- Test & Tune 4-9PM $30, Spectators-Always been $10

Saturday - First time run 3:00PM $35 race / $10 Spectator

Sunday- Gates open 8:00, Drag races begin 11:30. $35 race / $10 Spectator

Food prices are nothing like Carlisle. But the Covalt family will have Hot dogs, sausages, chili, chips, vegetable tray and water for everyone to share. So you won't need to buy anything if you don't want too. We always have plenty, but I may need some help with keeping stuff warm on the grill since Patti will not be with me.

Come on down a couple hours early and get to spend some time with the greatest racers around.

Rick

You never know until you arrive. I would just drive over to the pit side and park close to us that are racing. Some of us leave our cars at the track over night and we never had any problems at all.

Kay Hamby told me the pits were full today, and they could not park in our "normal" spot. They are parked further back in the the pits about the 1/8mile line by the corn field. I'm sure we find each other!

See you in the morning!

Rick
