I’m okay with being a Poser. I’m in good company.
I slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night.... or not.
Ready to drive the rest of the way home now.
Mo-Kan really is a neat track. Very laid back. Loved it! I will do my best to make it to this one every year.

I’ll add more color commentary later.

Laid back means no tech!
I'm thinking red '66 Valiant, blue '68 Valiant and a '81 Challenger shoot out next year for Mo-Kan.
Wait the Challenger guy is only guy with a running racing slant.
Guess we have to just see what Clay City brings.

Mark

Check out this very cool vintage trophy Mark refurbished for this race.

Mo-Kan has been operating since 1962 and used to give out some cool trophies. Mark picked up a few and re-purposed this one for the Slant 6 Winner. When he showed me the trophy Friday I said, “Now I want to win!” :D Thanks again Mark!

Wow, big congrats to Rob on the win!

Congrats to Denny and Steve on the 10.91 D/U record. I guess I have some serious work to do on the Dart. What does that car weigh? I thought it would be lighter than 3200#.

Nice work setting up the race, Mark, Rusty and your folks. Thanks so much for getting a great group together.

All the best,
Lou

You’re right. Google Maps says it is 12 minutes closer.
Still over 9 hours. Here comes Charlie... Wait for it...

Got my 66 Valiant running, today. I was half thinking of towing up to M/D, then leaving my race car and trailer up north, somewhere. Driving home empty, then driving back, picking up the race car, and doing Motor MIle. Then I realized, it is next weekend, and it won't work. I am having surgery on Wed, my wife has doctors appointment late on Friday. I have to leave on Thursday or real early Fri to get there in time. Not going to work.

Wow, That sounds like an awesome day. Congrats on the win Rob! Really cool that Steve's car was able to set a record too. I've seen that car at shows and it really is an amazing car. Did anyone get any videos of the racing?

It was late Saturday as we were standing around after the racing was done...

Mark: I didn’t take a single picture!

Me: Doh! Neither did I.

Denny mentioned that Steve was going to try and video the final.

Sorry for dropping the ball on the pics for this race. I’m off my game.

Maybe others will see this and post (?).

I thought I had the Long Distance award (and another $100) in the bag until we were standing around in the staging lanes and Mark says, "Well, I've got a hundred bucks for someone, but I don't know who to give it to." I pulled up Google Maps that showed Steve and Denny drove about 50 miles further than I did.

Team Green definitely knows about long hauling to races. I'm glad I could finally support this very cool race.
