The next person that says the R word out loud shall be severely Flogglewomped! If you don't know what that is , you don't want to find out!

Being prudent is a good plan Dan.

Some folks just get a bit superstitious about the "R" word...

I promise to keep everyone well informed about any changes of plan as far in advance as possible.

I just talked to Scotty. He was on his way to the track.

1. I will give him the most accurate list of participants the week before the race and he will work with me on sectioning off our own area. With 30+ racers we may not get our usual spot under the trees by the tower. I imagine several folks will want to be under the trees, so first come first serve on those, as usual.

2. He is very flexible on re-scheduling and just said to let him know what works best for us and he will accommodate us as best as he can. We could have a plan to reschedule the following week or two weeks later... He will just fit us in their regular program if it is not a part of the Monster Mopar weekend. We can discuss this at Wilkesboro this weekend and make a tentative plan.

3. He will talk to Bobby Rogers and see how much Bobby will be able to be involved. I told him we mainly just wanted to include him and recognize him for all of his support to Slant 6 racers that first year and for many years since.

4. He will be finishing up the event flyer over the next couple weeks and send me a copy to post here. Our $2,000 to Win, $600 Runner Up and $200 Semi-Finalists will be right up there with the Hemi and Nostalgia Super Stock payouts! I will also ask him to mention that it is our 20 year reunion and the first round paybacks and free Rookie entry.

When I was on my trip to Carson City, actually when my faithful Toyota stopped dead for the second time that day in heavy traffic, I got a call from Glen Terry. He wanted to thank us for honoring him in the Slant Six Racers Hall of Fame but he also wanted to know about the Clay City race. I told him it was going to be a big event and about the $2,000 purse and he seemed to be genuinely interested. It sounds like he is trying to talk Sergio into making the trip with him. He towed to Bristol once before but that was quite a few years ago now, why don't you add his name to the list of possibles until we know more. Tell Lou that I went through Rawlins twice and stayed at the Brickyard Inn once.

Cool news about Glenn and Sergio. I got a phone msg from Glenn after I sent the trophy and a letter, but he did not leave his number so I couldn't call him back. I did get a nice letter from Pete McNicholl too, and a msg from the Drakes too. Pete sounds like he is coming.

Rawlins was an interesting town. The Econolodge was fine with me rebuilding the car in their dirt lot, and several people were quite interested in the car and what I was doing.

Lou

I took Michael Glass [NCDemon1971] off the list and added three time National Champion Glen Terry and Sergio Gonzales as Potential Racers. Hopefully they will make that long haul East for this historic event. They made that long tow out to Bristol, TN in 2008 to face 2000 National Champion Ron "Possum" Parker amid a lot of good natured banter. Glen was our National Champion in 2007-8-9.

The Grudge Match was between Ron and Glen for that Bristol race, but it was that sly fox Meril Bruner that put 'em both on the trailer that day! Ron was Runner Up with Glen in third.
We all hope you can make it Glen and Sergio!!

Rob,

You better take my Dart off the list as I will not be able to bring 2 cars to CC. I will bring Project V, almost certainly.

Thanks,
Lou
