M and I completed the 532 mile drive from Indy to Wilksboro,
Was a leisurely and uneventful drive across the Blue Ridge Mountains.
We saw gas for 2.49 / gallon in southern Ohio.
We plan to do some hiking in the AM, will be at the drag strip by 5:00 pm.

See you guys tomorrow at about 5:00 at the track.

I have a buddy who is a videographer. He's coming to the races just to hang out. Does anyone mind if he shoots video? He's also a driver and used to autocross a Porsche 914. We went to High School together back in the 70's. I'm sure he'll get some great footage. He's a real pro.

Just come and hang out! No need to race every time to enjoy the Slanted Family (cue Addams Family music)...

DANG, sorry to hear about the brake problems, Norm.

I'll head from here around 2-3 PM. Car is packed and ready to go.

Lou

Hope you can get in 3 races.

Greg

13 cars tonight! We got both races done. I think Ryan may have the points lead now. He’s setting records AND winning rounds!

I drove home last night and made it back around 2:30 am. There were some bad spots with tons of rain that were a little scary but made it safely anyway.

Thanks Ron and Kay for all the work you did to plan/run 3 races this weekend. I always love coming to Wilkesboro. The track staff is great and they always treat us so good. Thanks for all you guys did to make the weekend great! I had an absolutely great weekend..... way better than anything I ever expected. The track owners were cheering me on and gave me the nickname "Hoppy". Wish I would've fixed the hop but everything else this weekend was great.

I didn't get to post the records from last race yet but Lou and I both reset our own records so I will have to get them updated soon.

It was great to see you all again!

Patti and I just got home about 5:45 this evening. We are not near as energetic as Ryan is so we stayed the night and took our time coming home. All went well except all 4 lanes of I81 were shut down for a car fire. Luckily a state road sign warned us about 15 miles out and I jumped off and drove Rt11 north for about 25 miles to get past it. Nice little ride.

Yes, Great time had by all! Thanks to Ron and Kay and the other ladies who helped with the food. I can easily see Wilkesboro being a pair of 50 point races next year.

We ran 2 races Friday night and one on Saturday. Ron and I talked before any of the races and decided that since it looked like rain Saturday, that the two Friday races would be his Wilkesboro races. And the Saturday race would be the make up Mason Dixon race, which we also got in. To say the Friday races were very fast would be an understatement. There were very few cars there at all, so we pretty much ran rounds as soon as we could get back up there.

Friday nights winner for both races was Ryan Covalt (Seymour Grinning) and the R/U in both races was John Metelko! Congratulations to both of them.

Saturday came down to Ryan again this time facing Ron Hamby. This time Ron came away with the win! Congratulations again to everyone! I am sure Rob will post up some more details when he arrives at home!

Yeah, just a wonderful Fri and Sat set of races. So great to see all the faces, seasoned veterans and new additions. Best weather we've ever had at Wilkesboro. 13-14 cars Friday night and 15 on Saturday, so great turnout.

All the best everyone,

Lou
