Thanks again to Rob for the great job promoting and running this race. I couldn't believe there were still 36 running Slant cars in the country.

Thanks to the track for treating us so well.

Yes a wonderful time had by all! Sorry the rain didn't cooperate and we didn't get to see a grand winner of this epic race. Rob did a really great job as did the track in how they treated us! I think the excitement level will help our group overall and I hope it encourages more people to show up at their local races!

Toad on Toad!

If I counted right there were 6 Toads at Clay City. If Frank can bring his and the others can come maybe we can have a Toad Shootout!

I wrote a lengthy reply earlier today but it doesn't seem to be here so I will try again. Maybe you have to submit it twice like you do PMs now. So like Charlie I drove straight through yesterday and got home about 8PM. It was a great weekend, not just to see all the racers but also their families and friends that accompany them to the track. It was great to see Bobby Rogers and Dallis Clark working the event just like the old days! I didn't get to meet Scotty Richardson but it looks like he will be a good steward of our favorite place to race. I missed the group picture until I saw Dad Truck's posting today. It really shows the great attendance. It was a sight for sore eyes to see the Six-Pak, the Buzzin Half Duzzin, and the Green Team all at one race.

We are all grateful to Rob Simmons for doing all the work to bring this thing together. Rob has the passion and the vision to lead slant six racing to even greater things. We need to find someone on the west coast to breathe some life back into what was for a while the dominant player. Maybe we can do this again sometime and get some more racers to come back. Just think if we could get Gordie Stevens, Will Burns, Charles Myers, Ron Heath, Howard Davis, the Drakes and the Coxes to put in an appearance! Maybe a 25th Anniversary special. Pete McNicholl couldn't make it but Kent Nichols did. The weather shortened up the event but this is how I like it, all the effort and expenditures and planning all focused on a few hours together. Just like drag racing where you work and plan and spend money all year all focused on a few seconds on the track!

It was a very special time for all who were there just like the first Clay City race 20 years ago. I almost forgot, in my original posting I offered to take up a collection to get Guzzi to come if we ever do this again, maybe Glenn Terry too!

Thanks again Rob for your effort to make this a great event. I had a great time even if I couldn't race Stan. I enjoyed seeing the people I met at Lou's place this last spring and meeting a whole bunch of new people. Now trying to remember all their names will be a challenge. Hopefully I'll be able to make it next year. I left Sunday morning about 8:30 a got home about 10pm. I would have gotten home sooner but I had a wheel bearing go out on the trailer near Le Roy Ill. Fortunately I carry a complete brake, hub, bearings, etc for the trailer with me and of course jack and tools. I was down only a little over an hour. I just saw the pics of me racing against Rob. Just so everyone knows, I beat Rob that round. Isn't that right Rob!!!!

I tried to post a video of the cars in the staging lanes on Saturday, Sept 8th, during the Slant 6 20th year reunion race with no luck!!

I have posted it to our Facebook (KayBare Ron Hamby) if anyone would like to see it. If anyone can, please post it to the Slant Six Forum. :)

Thanks!
Kay

the only way I know how to post videos at .org is through a youtube link

below is a walk through video WV shot using my phone, I believe this was

the line up for the first time trial run.

There were cars lining up in a second double row and unfortunately he did not get those so

not all of the cars were captured on this video.

Absolutely! I got to the end of the track and looked for Frank at the turn around and he was nowhere to be found!

He was already at the ticket booth!

You guys gotta watch Frank at future races... He's a slippery one!

I didn't see your smiling face in the group photo... Witness Protection Program?

We will line them up next year for sure.

Glad you came and got a chance to go at least one round.

I'd like to share a photo of the Reunion...It's not a terrific photo, but I think it would be appreciated!

Any suggestions on how to upload it here? Photo Sharing Site?

There is an option at the bottom. It has to be under 2MB.
