3-D print file for a Dash Knob, designed after those on 'my '64 Valiant. I think the same style was used on '63-'64 Dodges and Plymouths.

Front: ABS test print. Left: ABS print, painted silver. Right: Original.

I had to simplify the steps in the face. Also, there are a few fewer flutes in the rim.

Yeah, you can buy new, nicer knobs online. I just wanted to get better at using Sketchup and tweaking my basic printer.

You can get away with it being slightly different if you make ALL of them...………….

That way you won't notice a mismatch

Really, this one is a placeholder. and an exercise in using the software/hardware of home FDM (fused deposition modeling). I'm happy with it. Having a "standoff scale" part means that the generic black knob that came with the evaporator won't catch my eye. I'll buy a chromed metal knob one of these days, for the feel ...

BTW, the first ABS test print of a defroster vent went well last night. All it needed was a little trim to clear the vanes and a couple of artifacts. I will tinker with fill percentage for strength in the vanes, and maybe supports for one surface.

Tweak the model as needed...then get them printed by exone in metal.

I live by their factory.. maybe a mile or 2 from the house.

Is anyone repopping knobs for the 60-62 Valiants and Lancers? Those were plastic to begin with. The originals have a metal insert that latches them in place. The radio knobs just slid on, but they also had a metal insert that secured the knob to the slotted radio shaft
